Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 eGuide Multiplayer Mutliplayer

Multiplayer - Introduction

In single-player, you usually squared off against a single sniper—at most, three. Want to try your hand at double that?

In multiplayer, it’s time to match wits, and trigger fingers, against the finest human competition you can gather together in an expansive resort or the ruined streets of Sarajevo. Team Deathmatch mode gives you everything you love in multiplayer mayhem: teamwork, tactics, and the taste of blood.

Pick one of two mirrored maps and have fun with games ending either by time limit (up to one hour) or kill count.

Unlike other Team Deathmatch free-for-alls, multiplayer action at the resort or in downtown Sarajevo is about stealth and timely kills, not all-out, continuous violence. The team that works the best together will win the day, not the lone wolf who camps the best spot. As a team, you want to cover the entire resort and make the whole area a kill zone.

If one of your teammates, for example, camps in the mountain tower on the resort map, he can’t see the river bunker, so another teammate has to get his eyes on that position. A spotter is a great idea, or, at the very least, teammates should be in constant communication and revealing enemy snipers as soon as they’re noticed.

While one teammate pins down an enemy, another teammate can move to a dominant position and eliminate the enemy before his return fire kills any teammates on your side. The definition of teamwork equals communication, planning, and coordinated execution of your plan.

Learn your map like the back of your hand. Knowing where to find ammo when you’ve run out, where to snipe and where to hide are invaluable. This chapter will point out the primary sniper points to launch your assaults and defense operations, but you should experiment as much as possible.

A good sniping point that only you know about, or use often, can be the edge your team needs to win the battle.

Of course, no good sniper enters battle without a favorite rifle. You have five rifles to choose from: M200 Intervention, M24, SVD Dragunov, XM500, or the MSR. All are suitable weapons, and all often a minimum 4x zoom. Generally, you want the rifle that gives you the greater magnification for scoping out enemy tangos hiding inside bunkers or buildings.

The SVD Dragunov and XM500 offer only 12x zoom; though, they do give you 10-bullet clips and semi-automatic fire, it’s usually better to opt for the 16x zoom available from the M200 Intervention, M24, and MSR. The M24, however, has only five bullets in its clip, while the MSR holds 10 bullets, which could prove the difference in a battle that’s low on ammo.

Now, it’s time to choose your arena: the spread-out resort or the compact Sarajevo streets. The resort gives you more room to operate, though it takes more teammates to cover the entire area effectively. Sarajevo is a more confined space, but the debris and many holes in the ruined buildings makes spotting snipers extremely difficult.

Both are thrilling maps to play on. Jump in, snipe a few enemies, and set off on your path toward mastering multiplayer.
