Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel Guide Walkthrough Mission 5: Last Resort
Chapter 18: Room Service
Chapter 18: Room Service
The elevator ride is fairly uneventful, but once the trio get to the floor where P.I. and Castle are supposedly located, they find that only their bullet-ridden masks remain. A cartel heavily clad in a red ballistic mask tosses the masks to Alpha and Bravo before retreating into a corridor. El Diablo, the feared La Guadaña liuetenant, has made his grand appearance.
He leaves behind a Brute mercenary and several thugs for you to contend with.
The corridor is blocked off, forcing you to take a detour to the right though another part of the hotel construction. Be ready to handle a number of thugs and mercenaries. Push through them and get to the stairwell at the end of the corridor
. El Diablo has fled upward.
The next corridor is similar to the first, although there is nothing preventing you from traveling straight down it and avoiding the open rooms on the right side
. Advance with caution, as cartel troops tend to be hiding in the side rooms. It’s safer to make a sweep of them to avoid unpleasant surprises.
The room at the end of the corridor demands some extra caution. Construction materials are scattered throughout the area and can help obscure enemy positions. You’ll have to sweep around to the right shortly after entering the room to clear out all hostiles.
Once the room is secured, the team interrogates a surviving cartel merc to learn that Cordova was moved to the church Fiona had suggested they investigate first. With this new knowledge, the group moves down the next corridor when a massive explosion rocks the hotel. El Diablo appears on a helicopter that hovers over the hole in the rooftop, taunting the T.W.O. operatives before triggering another catastrophic blast that collapses the corridor and sends the group down to the floor below.
A pair of mercenaries confront you as soon as you regain control, but shortly after you gun them down another scene plays out while the threesome argue over whether or not they should proceed through a doorway as the hotel continues to collapse all around them. Their hand is forced when the whole building lurches violently, throwing them through the door and sending them sliding down a burning, collapsing hallway filled with cartel gunmen. You’re stuck using a pistol during this segment, and you can definitely be killed by enemy fire if you’re not fast on the draw.
The corridor ends in an abrupt drop several stories down into the hotel swimming pool, and the team manages to drag themselves out of the water relatively unscathed. Now that El Diablo has made his play in this war, it’s clear that the resistance around the church will be fierce, but that isn’t enough to intimidate Alpha and Bravo.
