Chapter 7: Politics in Action

Flashing forward five years to the present, Alpha and Bravo witness the brutal ambush on Mayor Cordova’s security convoy, only barely managing to survive themselves. La Guadaña has commenced a full scale attack on the city of La Puerta in hopes of eliminating the mayor, and even the local police are finding themselves overwhelmed. With the mayor now missing, Alpha and Bravo must fight their way through waves of cartel forces, locate Cordova, and rendezvous with any surviving T.W.O. mercenaries in the city.

Chapter 7: Politics in Action

We return to the present day as the cartel begins its surprise attack. You start facing down a gang of thugs as they rush you from the direction the convoy had traveled from. After you take them down, another group attacks from the opposite direction, climbing atop overturned vehicles to get firing angles on you. Shortly after this, a third group tries to attack from the rooftops, bringing RPGs to bear. Work quickly, as there is sparse cover available initially, and the nearby vehicles that can be used for cover will likely explode from incoming fire, causing heavy damage if not killing you outright. As a rule, when the RPG users show up, put them down first and fast, because you’ll have no time to react if they get a shot off at this range.

A short distance from where you start, another T.W.O. survivor, Amp, is making a stand on the right side of the street as more cartel thugs close in. Take out the enemies near him and he will rejoin you next to a wrecked T.W.O vehicle, assisting in your push down the street. You need to reach a stairway on the left , but more thugs on the street will block your path.

Another cartel ambush lies in wait to your immediate left as you climb up the stairs. Use the planters for cover and cut these guys down before proceeding across the plaza to drop down into a back alley . You’ll find a set of stairs that will take you to the rooftops.

From the rooftops, you can get a good look at the drama unfolding in the streets below. Local police units have engaged the cartel to assist civilians trying to escape the warzone. You can elect to snipe from the rooftops to thin out the enemy, but this early in your T.W.O. career you most likely do not have a proper sniping implement. Either way, you need to get back down to street level and eliminate the cartel forces, once again taking care around any abandoned vehicles. Once you manage this, duck into an alley on the right-hand side of the street to complete the chapter.
