ChallengesDon’t drop the pot Evade the Wallmaster Halved attack and defense Sub-WeaponsMaterialsRecommended Outfits |
There isn’t a lot of puzzle solving in this level, but there sure is an awful lot of combat against obnoxious Soldiers of all types. The Boomeranger Outfit will help you stun the Soldiers, while the Legendary Dress will help you refill the Heart Containers the Soldiers drain.
Room 1
Right at the start of this level, you’ll be attacked by a green Soldier, while another green Soldier guards the Sub-Weapons on the west side of the area. Get used to that—this level is full of them. They can be a bit tricky to defeat. Their swords will pretty much deflect a sword attack every time you swing, but it will also launch their arm back, leaving them open for an attack. If you’re playing multiplayer, have one player attack from behind while you keep the Soldier busy. If you’re playing single-player, you can position a Doppel behind it, switch to your Doppel, and use the Doppel to slash the Soldier. When the Soldier turns its attention toward the Doppel, switch back to your other Link, slash the Soldier in the back, and repeat. It’s a slow process, but it’s the easiest way to defeat these aggravating enemies.
Once you’ve defeated the Soldier, head to the right and grab the Sub-Weapons off of their pedestals. (Anyone wearing a Boomeranger outfit should grab the Boomerang, of course.) After grabbing all three Sub-Weapons, the gate to your right will lower.
You’ll face off with two red Spear Throwing Soldiers in this next area. They won’t give you as much trouble as the green Soldiers, but they can be a pain in their own right. They’ll constantly run away from you as you approach them, making them hard to hit. This is where your Gust Jar and Boomerangs will come in handy. Stun the Soldiers to get in close, then swing away.
Use the Bomb Flowers to break the cracked block on the right side of the area to progress.
You’ll run into three more Soldiers here: two green and one red Spear Throwing Soldier. Use your Sub-Weapons and sword to stun them and press them back against the gate; the Gust Jar is particularly effective against them. Keep the pressure up and all three enemies will eventually fall.
Now, make a two-Link Totem and hit the orb switch on the right side of the bridge to lower the gate. You’ll find the Triforce gateway on the other side of the gate.
Room 2
You’ll have to face off with a Silver Ball & Chain Soldier in the area at the top of the stairs. You can use your Gust Jar or Boomerangs to stun it, then move in close to get a few hits in. If it starts to shake, get back. It means it’s about shake out of its stun, and these guys tend to come out swinging. Literally!
Once it’s been defeated, head farther north. You’ll have to defeat a variety of Soldiers in this room to move on. Specifically, you’ll have to defeat two green Soldiers, two red Spear Throwing Soldiers, and two Bomb Soldiers. You can utilize the Bombs being thrown at you to help you defeat this onslaught of enemies. You can also throw your Links onto the tiered platforms on either side of the room and take out the Bomb and Spear Throwing Soldiers. Whatever method you choose, as soon as you defeat all six Soldiers, the northern gate will lower and you’ll be able to reach the Triforce gateway.
Room 3
You’ll encounter color-changing orb switches at the start of this room. These switches change color when you hit them and the color corresponds to platforms of the same colors. If the orb is purple, the purple platforms will move up; if the orb is yellow, the yellow platforms will be up. Simple enough, right? But these things can make some pretty devious puzzles.
Hit the orb switch to turn it purple, then have all three Links stand on the submerged yellow platforms. Now hit the orb again and the yellow platforms will jet out of the ground, raising all three Links up with them. Now simply drop into the area to your right with the Soldier, red Spear Throwing Soldier and the Squiddy.
As much as we want to encourage you to take out a withdrawal from the First Hytopian Bank of Squiddy, wait until you take out the two Soldiers in this area first.
Once you’ve made your Rupee withdrawal from Squiddy, make a three-Link Totem, stand on the purple platform on the north side of the room, and then throw the top two Links over to the other side. Have those two Links clear out the Soldiers, and then have one hit the color orb switch on the right side of the room to allow the lone Link to rejoin his comrades.
Change the color orb switch to yellow, then have all your Links stand on the purple platforms in the center of the room. A Bomb Soldier will be doing its only job by throwing Bombs at you from the north end of the room. Pick a Bomb up and throw it onto the color orb to your left, then wait for it to explode. The orb will change to purple and all of your Links will be elevated.
Make a three-Link Totem and throw the top two Links over the gap to the north side of the room. Have them quickly stand on the two pressure switches just below the Triforce gateway. Two sets of stairs will rise out of the water in the gap, giving the lone Link the ability to rejoin his friends.
Ignore all of the Soldiers as best as possible, and have all three Links stand on the Triforce gateway at the north end of the room.
Room 4
You’ll have to ride an elevator on the north side of the room while dodging two silver Bomb Soldiers’ Bombs. If their Bombs land on the elevator, quickly pick them up and throw them off.
Defeat the silver Bomb Soldier at the top of the elevator once you get off of it, then line up the two Boomerang Links at the end of the northern platform. Use your Gust Jar Link to blast them across the gap, then have the Boomerang Links step on the two pressure switches to create a bridge across the gap.
Two giant, hanging weights will be blocking your path ahead. To get past them, have your Gust Jar Link head to the platform to the right, then air blast each weight to cause them to swing. They’ll keep swinging back and forth, giving you a chance to slide in between them into the next area.
When all three Links enter the northern area of the room, two Silver Ball & Chain Soldiers will appear. Keep your distance and try to stun both of them before attacking either of them. If you leave one un-stunned, it will bash you while you’re trying to hit the other one.
Once you defeat both silver Soldiers, the northern wall will shift away and the Triforce gateway will be at your fingertips. Stand on it to finish the level.
