Uncle Po

Barring any craziness on your part, the drive to Uncle Po should be without incident. Winston begins talking to Wei about the situation. He is convinced that Wei keeping Siu Wah alive is the only thing that has spared them for the moment, but is convinced that his own life is forfeit. He entrusts the Water Street Gang to Wei if anything does happen to him, and pleads for Wei to protect his family and his fiance, Peggy, from the fallout, should it come down to that. Wei tries to console Winston, assuring him that he did the right thing to stand up to Dogeyes.

Winston goes on to tell Wei more about Big Smile Lee, the driving force behind Dogeyes’ sudden power plays. He controls lucrative porn production and human trafficking for the Sun On Yee, businesses that even Winston finds deplorable.

Arriving at the meeting, a bodyguard greets Wei and Winston in an amused fashion. Dogeyes was apparently here minutes before, and left without a scratch.

Uncle Po is a sprightly and seemingly polite old man who invites Winston to tea. Acknowledging Wei, he says that Wintson has spoken highly of him. Wei tries to imply that it was Winston who suggested keeping Siu Wah alive, but it’s apparent that the Dragonhead does not believe this fiction one bit. Still, he praises the loyalty Wei is showing, calling it a fading quality from the Triad. He wants to show Wei some gratitude, and when Wei tries to suggest that it would be too much for him to accept, we see hints of Uncle Po’s true authority. He will brook no disagreement.

Uncle Po then offers Wei work as a debt collector under one of his people, Roland Ho, and says to go see him. Waving Wei off, Uncle Po begins to address Winston, as his bodyguard stands ominously.

The bodyguard outside, Ricky, is upset that Wei walked out alive, as he bet money on needing body bags for the meeting. He offers Wei some work in Central. After the cutscenes, Wei is offered a vehicle to take to meet Roland Ho.

The drive to Roland Ho’s Impound Lot is short, but you receive good news on the way there: Winston calls you, alive and in one piece! He’s understandably a bit humbled. He asks for your continued hard work, and possibly for some favors in regards to his wedding preparations. At the Impound Lot, Wei will park the car at the waypoint, and you need to proceed on foot to talk with Roland.

Roland Ho is no longer a gangster in his prime. He’s somewhat out of shape, and weighed down heavily by experience and wisdom, the latter of which he tries to impart to Wei. He then offers Wei a submachine gun and the name of his target: Patsy Wing. Heavily in debt to Roland, she apparently has bodyguards that may require the firepower. The drive over to Patsy’s location should be smooth. Don’t attract any unwanted attention with the cops just yet. Having a gun and getting spotted using it or just carrying it in the open is an automatic Heat level.

Wei pulls up and tells Patsy it’s time to pay off her debts. She climbs into a sports car flanked by her bodyguards in their own vehicles. Her driver speeds off, and Wei is forced to give chase. You need to take out all of her protection first before you can personally deal with Patsy.

This is your first real instance of shooting while driving, and the controls are a bit different from what they are when you’re on foot. Fortunately, you have a nice advantage: While aiming and driving, the game goes into bullet time, making it easier to draw a bead on hostile targets while keeping your ride on the road. While chasing Patsy, you need to disable the vehicles her guards are using, and the fastest way to do this is to shoot out their tires.

After a crazy ride through Central, and several waves of goons later, you’re able to catch up to Patsy’s car. Action Hijack aboard to throw out her driver, and then start driving back to the Impound Lot. Patsy is beside herself with fear, and for good reason, but Wei insists he only cares about the money. His reassurances fall on deaf ears. Explaining that the car is loaded with drugs, Patsy apologizes and jumps out of the vehicle while it’s moving. With no money or Patsy, but with a car full of dope, take the “payment” back to Roland. After delivering the vehicle, the mission is completed. Raymond wants to meet with you as soon as possible.

Checking In

Raymond is furious with Wei. Keeping Siu Wah out of police custody has hurt their case severely. He believes that Wei has crossed all of the wrong lines, and wants to terminate the operation. His arguments are cut short when Wei reveals that he’s just spoken in person to Uncle Po, something that no other undercover officer has managed.
