Sleeping Dogs eGuide Walkthrough Main Story Walkthrough

Payback

Climb into Conroy’s van and follow the rest of the gang to the sweatshop. During the trip, Conroy continues to antagonize Wei, claiming that tonight Wei had better have a body count of some kind. If only he paid attention to those car chases where you rammed cars so hard they exploded!

One more catch—there aren’t enough guns in the vehicles to arm everyone, so Wei is told he’ll just have to improvise once he gets inside. Thanks Conroy. You always were a worthless ass.

Once at the warehouse, you’ll need to go in by yourself. Pull open the indicated door and step inside.

It doesn’t take long before Wei runs into some guards. For now, nobody is armed, so go to town on them the old-fashioned way. If your health regeneration buff has worn off, try to avoid taking damage during this first fight. You’ll need every edge you can muster very soon.

The thugs here are nothing special. None carry melee weapons, nor are any of them Grapplers or Brawlers.

Beyond the next sliding door is another set of guards. One of these guys is a Grappler, and you’ve already learned how much of a hassle he can be, if you let him get away with his throws.

Further down the corridor, next to a large, open furnace is another pack of Dogeyes’ men. Now things are getting a bit more intense. Brawlers are included in the mix, and some of the men here are packing cleavers. Don’t try to Grab the armed thugs unless they’ve been stunned! Use of environmental hazards here can help keep the pressure off of you long enough to keep up the damage on the enemy.

Just around the next corner, a gunman spots Wei and begins to open fire. Don’t stand around. Charge at him and Action Vault over the piece of cover he’s using. If you vault straight at him, Wei automatically tackles him, takes him out, and takes his weapon. Climb up the stairs next to him to go deeper into the warehouse.

Wei arrives at a drug processing center, but by now Dogeyes’ people are fully alerted to his presence and have all brought out guns of their own.

You start this fight from cover. Check your flanks quickly to see if anyone is trying to blindside you. If so, take them out fast. Getting shot takes a lot of health, and you may not have full health regeneration at this point. Any time you want to advance, do so by vaulting over cover. This gives you some bullet time to take accurate shots at the enemy while on the move.

After wiping out the enemy, climb up the stairs at the end of the room and make your way to the catwalks. Here you have some limited cover, and the enemy is already shooting at you from across the walkway. Fortunately, there are some strategically placed explosive gas canisters to use on them. Don’t get greedy trying to shoot these targets immediately, though. Wait until you have an opening first, and make sure enemies are actually close to the canisters to earn extra Triad points with each blast.

After clearing out these enemies, go to the location where Siu Wah is holed up, but be ready for a surprise rush of two gunmen running down the stairs leading to Siu Wah’s office.

Siu Wah is less than willing to listen to Wei’s orders and makes a run for it. Chase the little bastard down! He eventually runs to a dead end where you can Grab and use him as a human shield. Take him back to where you first entered the warehouse. Don’t forget, you can sprint while holding a hostage!

The trip to the exit isn’t entirely smooth, as more armed thugs will rush you. If Siu Wah is harmed, the mission is a failure, and you start back at the foot chase. Headshots on the goons are ideal, but if you can’t manage that, body shots can stagger a thug—and a staggered thug is a thug who isn’t shooting at you.

Once you get to the exit, you are greeted not by fellow Water Street Gang members, but by a pair of squad cars and two officers with their guns drawn. The warehouse provides a convenient distraction as half of it blows sky high. Siu Wah takes this opportunity to commandeer a police car and bolt. Wei climbs on a motorcycle and another chase ensues!

Your job now is to evade police pursuit while closing in on Siu Wah’s vehicle. Drive your bike as hard and as fast as you can until you’re able to Action Hijack Siu Wah’s car. Your ride’s not over though. Now you need to lose the cops. Once you manage that, drive to Winston, who is waiting at a bus stop marked on the map, and park the car in the garage there.

Siu Wah’s constant taunting about how Big Smile Lee, Dogeyes’ benefactor, is going to tear you apart grows very quiet when Winston stalks up and informs Siu Wah of his new terms of employment. Handing Wei a roll of cash, Winston thanks him for his efforts. Even Conroy apologizes for his actions and manages to form a sentence or two that doesn’t involve accusing Wei of being a cop. Imagine if he knew how right he’s been from day one?

With this, the first act comes to an end. The war can only escalate from here, but now it’s obvious that this situation has gone much further beyond two Red Poles fighting over scraps. There will be consequences, but for now Winston believes things are looking up for the Water Street Gang.
