Sleeping Dogs eGuide Walkthrough Main Story Walkthrough

Chain of Evidence

After leaving Club Bam Bam, call up Raymond. He’s shocked to know that Wei is in possession of Charlie Peng’s gun, and insists they meet up immediately. Get over to the North Point Overpass as quickly as possible.

When you arrive at the meeting point, it’s not Raymond who’s there, but Superintendent Pendrew. He explains the rarity of guns in Hong Kong, and insists that this particular gun is important. A dead man lies in the driver’s seat of a nearby car, but Pendrew explains that the dead man has his own purpose in a moment. He then tells Wei to assume a firing position, as they are about to recreate a crime scene.

This mission is actually a tutorial for using guns in Sleeping Dogs: how to aim, how to shoot, and how to take cover and vault over cover. Take the practice shots at the highlighted objects, and then the screen flashes. There was a firefight, and Pendrew walks you through the situation. Two hostile gangs gathered at a deal that went bad. Guns are drawn, words are exchanged, and soon after that, bullets fly. Take cover at the designated barricade, then take more shots at the newly marked objects.

After shooting the targets, you are prompted to blindfire several shots at the far walls.

Pendrew then says a van arrives on scene, just as it slides to a stop near the parked cars. Several mooks pile out of the van and begin opening fire. Take them out! Headshots are instant kills, but if the target is mobile or well protected this may not be an option. Center of mass is more reliable, but it may take more rounds to bring a target down.

Pendrew then directs Wei to take cover at another barricade, and instructs him to shoot at another group of thugs. After they are put down, Wei is then told to vault over his piece of cover while shooting at the thug on the passenger side of the car. Take cover at the designated table, then launch over it again, still firing at the thug behind the car.

In the next moment, the thug tries to jump into the driver’s seat to escape, but according to Pendrew, “Charlie” had other ideas. Shoot the tires on the car to disable it.

Pendrew compliments Wei for his shooting, then takes the gun from him and puts two in the dead man’s head. Wei questions the action, but Pendrew dismisses his concerns. They are alike, he explains, doing what must be done to put people like Charlie Peng away, by any means necessary. Before Wei can push the issue any further, sirens echo in the air. The local police have been alerted to the shooting and are en route. The mission ends, but now you’ve got to escape the cops.

The chase begins with you at Heat level 2. If you play your cards right, you can escape immediately using the starting motorcycle and a long enough stretch of traffic-filled streets.
