Sleeping Dogs eGuide Walkthrough Main Story Walkthrough

Civil Discord

As Wei arrives at the chop shop, the other gangsters immediately switch their attention to him and Conroy. After dealing with most of the first group of gangsters, a second wave comes running in from the south. Expect a mix of Brawlers, Grapplers, and thugs armed with knives and cleavers. This first battle can be rough if you fail to deal with each threat correctly, as there are far too many gangsters to allow for many mistakes. Use the nearby environmental hazards to build up Face, and go on a disarming spree on the armed thugs.

After the army of Triad members are taken out, Tran offers Wei a gun, saying that the gangsters had them in their cars. After the Water Street Gang piles into a vehicle, you get a text from Mrs. Chu. Gangsters are shooting up the restaurant, and she needs help fast. You have less than 30 seconds to get to the Golden Koi before the restaurant is overwhelmed by the enemy. Big Smile Lee intends on eliminating any potential threat to his ascension.

The street in front of the Golden Koi is a prepared killzone. Wei and the gang leave their car and return fire on the attacking Triad forces. There are a lot of gunmen here, meaning that any car you choose to hide behind will not last long under sustained fire.

Start off by eliminating the gangsters on the sidewalk to the left of where you start the firefight. With them out of the picture, you can now focus on moving forward and taking out the enemy in the street. Remember to use the bullet time from Action Vaults to chain together repeated headshots on the enemy, thereby extending your bullet time. Once the street is clear, you have thirty seconds to run inside of the Golden Koi and prepare for the next wave of enemies.

Once you enter the front lobby of the restaurant, multiple groups of reinforcements pour in from the steps leading up to the Night Market across the street. Vans and cars filled with more gangsters approach from the north and south sides of the main street. After dealing with the vehicle reinforcements, watch for another wave coming in from the Night Market.

After the frontal assault is temporarily halted, Mrs. Chu shouts angrily from the kitchen. A thug with a message from Big Smile Lee threatens her, but he is distracted by Wei’s sudden arrival. Mrs. Chu puts the thug down herself.

The back alley to the restaurant is about to be overwhelmed by another round of gangsters. Consider grabbing an auto-shotgun for the first group. The tight alley makes it hard for anyone to escape the wrath of this weapon. The auto-shotgun can also blow up a car very quickly, which can help eliminate the first wave in short order.

After the first group is eliminated, more Triad members flood into the alley from the main street. The alley here opens up a bit, but you can stick to the auto-shotgun if you still have it. As always, a well-timed Action Vault can put you in position to cut down a whole team of gangsters in just one moment, and because they’re all packed fairly close together, you should have no problems hunting down the enemy quickly.

With the alley secured, Conroy shouts for you to join him on the roof of the Golden Koi. Once there, he provides you with an assault rifle/grenade launcher combo, with full loads of ammunition and a crate filled with reloads if necessary. Okay Conroy, you’re not all that bad after all.

What follows for the next minute and a half can best be described as a shooting gallery. You’ve got a great position overlooking the main street, where you see your allies holding the line against a frankly absurd number of enemies. This is why you have a grenade launcher. There is one rub: Your allies’ overall health is tracked by a meter that appears when this battle starts. If it empties, you fail the mission, so don’t let the enemy get to close to them, and avoid shooting them yourself. Once you defend your allies until time runs out, Conroy and Wei have to make their escape. The cops have decided Thug War 3 is a bad idea to have happen in North Point and are coming to stop it.

You’d think that after all the shooting you’d have a higher Heat level than 2, but you should take the breaks when you get them. After evading the cops, Wei needs to get to Ricky and Vivienne right away. Ricky is loyal to Big Smile Lee, but is a good guy at heart. Wei has information that might get Ricky to turn his back on Lee. Drive over to Vivienne’s apartment, and avoid any further trouble on the way there.

During the ride, Wei wants Conroy to call up Jackie to find out where he is, but there’s no response on his phone.

Ricky is initially hostile to Wei, saying that Sonny told him that Wei slept with Vivienne. Vivienne comes to Wei’s defense, saying that of all the men who Sonny ordered her to sleep with, Wei is the only one who said no, something not even Ricky can claim. The bugs that Sonny ordered Wei to plan caught some juicy footage of her and Ricky together, and if she doesn’t testify against Sonny, the police are threatening to distribute the footage. This means that she’ll become a big target. Wei offers to handle Big Smile Lee while Ricky can get Vivienne someplace safe to lay low for a while until this mess blows over.

The things you have to deal with to bring down a Triad member. After Ricky has been pacified, Conroy drops Wei off at a safe location. The Water Street boys will have to lay low themselves until this gets resolved.
