Sleeping Dogs eGuide Walkthrough Main Story Walkthrough

Big Smile Lee

Mr. Tong left Wei a very sweet ride to take to the election. It’s protected by a pair of stalwart thugs, but you also happen to have Tong’s butcher knife with you. After chopping up the guards, climb in the car and get moving. The drive to the meeting location is long, giving a nearly delirious Wei plenty of time to listen to his inner demons come to the surface.

The entry gate for vehicles is firmly shut, so you’ll have to take the side gate yourself to get inside the compound. You soon encounter some of Big Smile Lee’s men moving some “product”. Show off the nice blade you borrowed from Tong. There’s six goons, but not one of them will last very long under repeated Strikes from the blade. With the first set of guards done, climb up to the roof of the compound.

You eventually come across a guard carrying an assault rifle. Take the weapon and eliminate him.

This triggers an alarm, and a number of assault rifle-armed gangsters pour out on the next section of the roof. Mow them down before you try to cross the bridge to their part of the rooftops, otherwise you’ll have to deal with them and another larger contingent of guards that appear when you arrive on the bridge. This can be a difficult fight simply because of how quickly assault rifles can drain Wei’s health. There’s no shame in sitting back behind cover to play it safe.

Climb up the stairs to reach the control room. Guards far below start firing up at you through the glass. Vault out of the room and use the bullet time to aim at the explosive canisters and enemies on your way down, or snipe them from your relatively safe perch and then dive out of the window.

The truck lot is filled with more enemies, as well as more explosives for you to use on them. You’re getting closer to the restaurant. The election is to be held within!

Watch your fire on the bridge leading to the restaurant. Civilians are trying to escape along this path and are mixed in with armed guards.

You encounter Big Smile Lee, along with your old friend Ponytail, at the restaurant entrance. They send a large group of gunmen your way while they retreat to the relative safety of the other side of the room. Unfortunately for them, they’ve left explosives on the counter that you’re able to shoot to blow away whole swaths of enemies. Be on the lookout for those opportunities as you close in on Ponytail, who has elected to try and hold the line against Wei Shen.

Not a good call on his part. Ponytail is tougher than the average mook, a “super mook” if you will, but he’s not bulletproof. He does have a gold .50 cal pistol, which can hurt a lot if it hits you. Make use of the explosives lying on the counter next to him to put him away for good.

Lee surprises Wei in the next room, blasting him with a shotgun. One shot isn’t good enough, and he’s not able to finish Wei off, as the weapon jams. He decides to make a run for it. Chase Lee down the docks as best you can. When he jumps onto a boat, jump right after him.

Lee is desperate enough to crash the boat into a floating fueling station, with predictable results. But it’s still not enough to kill Wei. Lee draws a pistol, intending to finish off the cop himself. Wei manages to get the gun away from Lee, and the final fight begins.

All of the accumulated abuse has finally caught up to Wei. You can’t rely on Wei’s traditional martial arts skill to beat Lee. Wei can barely throw a punch, let alone any kicks. Instead, concentrate on Countering Lee until you score a decisive knockdown. Wei will then climb atop Lee, prompting you to mash the Strike button as fast as you can to finally beat him to submission. Next, pick Lee up and drag him to the ice chipper to bid him a fond and crunchy farewell.

In the immediate aftermath, Raymond comes to Wei’s aid, putting him under his custody to guarantee his safety. Days later, “Aunt” Jiang sends “Officer Shen” some surprising information. We won’t spoil it here. Ultimately, Wei’s job as an undercover agent is finished, but he intends to stay in Hong Kong, to which Inspector Teng asks, “Which Hong Kong?”
