Time is short. You need to triangulate where the call from Ace was made, and then get out there ASAP. Thankfully, there’s an app for that. The smartphone switches to triangulation mode, showing you the location of three cell phone towers in the city, and your position relative to them. Your job is to get to the center of the space between the three towers. Once at that location, initiate the trace.
The phone now switches to another part of triangulation mode. The four areas of the city are displayed. Scan Central to call up Ace.
You reach his girlfriend Crystal, who is very distraught. Ace has died in the accident, and she is bleeding badly herself. During this frantic call, you need to cycle between the three main towers on the display, looking for a green flashing antenna that is common to all three. Once you locate it, scan it in order to pinpoint where Ace’s phone is currently at. With the location found, Wei assures Crystal he is on the way.
This is a different race against time. Crystal’s health is displayed as a slowly emptying meter on the left side of the screen. You need to drive out to her before it empties and your only witness dies. On the way there, Hotshot texts you, insisting that now is the time to finish this rivalry. You will find Ace’s car on the beach dozens of feet below the waypoint on the highway. Take the stairs down to Crystal and get her talking.
During a brief flashback, Crystal says that Hotshot deliberately ran Ace through the guardrail to take him down. An ambulance is already on the way for her, but there’s nothing to be done for Ace. As you leave, you need to make sure you get a picture of Ace’s car. Next, call Inspector Teng to give her an update.
It’s unfortunate that Ace died before Wei could warn him, but there’s still a chance to bring down Hotshot. Wei informs Teng that he will challenge Hotshot to a race, and that this is the perfect chance to catch Hotshot. He will go meet the cocky racer and drive him straight into a police blockade. Text the challenge to Hotshot.
Hotshot waits for Wei at Victoria Peak. The race will take place down the length of the peak’s winding road. Ensure you’re in the fastest car you can find, even stealing one if you must, and then go challenge the murderer.
Hotshot cheats even at the start of the race, leaving the start line at “3”. Don’t worry about winning or staying ahead of him for now, just keep him in sight. If he gets too far ahead, you fail the mission. Hotshot is a lot of things, but he’s also a good driver, and he’s in a fast car to boot. If you’re having trouble keeping up with him, keep an eye out on the GPS for shortcuts you can take. This race demands solid driving skill, as there are many hairpin turns that can slow you down badly if you take them too fast or from the wrong angle.
At the bottom of the mountain, the police have set up a barricade that Hotshot blows right through. This begins a three-way duel between you, Hotshot, and the police. Keep tailing Hotshot as close as you can. He will try to make a break for the highways once more. Use Ram Attacks to disable his vehicle. Once Hotshot is out of the race, you still need to escape from the HKPD.
Once you escape, you’re rewarded for completing the initial objective. After calling Inspector Teng, you find out that the police have bagged Hotshot and have him booked for murder. After the call, you earn another cash reward, and the Hotshot file is officially closed!
