The Wedding

The mission actually starts at the Aspirazone, where Wei picks up his suit. Afterwards, drive to the banquet hall for the meet and greet.

After Winston hands Wei the keys to his car, Wei makes his way to grab the wine case in the trunk. That is precisely when screams and gunshots can be heard. Jackie, arriving late to the wedding, is trying to get into the hall through the front door, but is unable to get in. Wei shouts for him to get help.

To get into the banquet hall, you need to climb up the nearby scaffolding to the roof of the building. Enter through the open window once you get up top, then go down the stairs into the hall.

Members of the catering staff are apparently part of the chaos, and Wei encounters them beating the guests. Your first fight involves four gangsters—nothing too special. It’s possible to toss them over the side of the balcony or down the stairs if you’re positioned correctly. After beating them down, head downstairs.

Two Brawlers, one of whom is armed with a meat cleaver, along with a basic thug charge you as you arrive on the first floor. Make the armed Brawler a priority, then use his cleaver on the others. With them down, kick your way through the indicated door to the next room.

The gangsters on the other side of the door are armed with guns. Fortunately, the one closest to the door has his back turned. Disarm him, then take advantage of the momentary bullet time to cap the next closest caterer. A gunfight ensues here. Watch your background, and try to avoid shooting any live civilians in the area. Remember that enemies will be marked with red icons on your mini-map, as well as with icons over their heads. Use this to get a fix on enemy positions.

This room is filled with lots of available cover. Keep watching your flanks as you move forward and gun down the hitmen.

After clearing the room, you find Winston, bleeding out next to his fiance. He urges you to take Peggy away from here, saying she deserves better, and not knowing that she’s already passed away from her own wounds, before he succumbs to his own.

More gunmen burst into the room, armed with submachine guns. Wei automatically takes cover behind a drink bar. Vault over cover with your pistol drawn and make sure you take down the men with the SMGs first, before taking on the pistol user. Switch for an SMG once they’re dead, and move on to the hallway the men came from. It’s clear, so if you’ve got health regeneration buffed, use this as a chance to fully recover before pushing forward.

A short scene ensues, showing Uncle Po’s bodyguard getting taken down, while Uncle Po takes a bullet to the shoulder. The older man manages to run off, with “caterers” in hot pursuit.

The balcony you’re on is light on cover, and there are men with clear shots on you to your right the moment you regain control of Wei. Meanwhile, more gunmen are advancing directly at you from in front. Advance carefully and wipe out the men on the balcony. Then take the stairs down to the main hall.

The battle in the first floor of the main hall is one of the tougher gun battles in the game, even if you cleared out a number of thugs from the top floor. The enemy has heavier firepower here in the form of full-blown assault rifles, and this can tear through Wei’s health in a hurry. If you die here, you restart the firefight back on the second-floor balcony.

Complicating things, there are plenty of places for the enemy to flank Wei from, with lots of hard cover available to both sides. Use this to your advantage, and use the bullet time you get after vaulting over obstacles. Watch out for enemies hiding in the nearby kitchen; they have an immediate line of sight to where you enter the main hall. Give special attention to the goons wielding assault rifles.

More gunmen enter the room to the left of the door that Uncle Po ran through. Be ready for their entrance and hose them down.

Breaking out of the banquet hall, Wei encounters Uncle Po, who is slowly but surely succumbing to his injuries. To help Uncle Po, stand next to him and use the Grab command when prompted. His overall health is displayed as a meter on screen, and it is constantly draining. You can’t afford to sit still for very long. Keep moving forward, and be ready for more gunmen.

As you approach a water fountain, three more gunmen rush you from in front. Remember, even if you can’t get headshots right away, shots to the body stagger enemies—and they aren’t shooting you if they are staggering. After they are gunned down, press onward.

Three more gunmen ambush you in the gardens beyond the fountain. Let go of Uncle Po if necessary, and use Action Vault bullet time to bring them down. After this trio is dismissed, keep bringing Uncle Po forward. Around the next bend, another team of gunmen will attack. Beyond them is the next waypoint.

At the waypoint, you cross over a small bridge. More assassins charge you from the front, but they pass close to a food cart that has some convenient propane tanks that are just screaming to be shot at. This should take care of the new wave of killers, but make sure you pick off any survivors. This is final stretch! Head towards the last waypoint, where a number of men loyal to Uncle Po are holding the line against the assassins, giving you a chance to get the Chairman to the hospital.

An emotionally distressed Wei drags a dying Uncle Po to the hospital emergency room, demanding that he be seen immediately. Uncle Po is still aware enough to remind Wei that he should leave before the police show up. The irony is palpable.

Checking In

The meeting with Raymond after the incident goes somewhat better than the last. Sympathizing with Wei, Raymond says the situation would affect anyone. Wei isn’t having the calm counsel. With Winston gone, Wei has taken his place. The Water Street Gang undoubtedly will be clamoring for vengeance once the wrongdoers have been found. Even Uncle Po, as he was being dragged out of the banquet hall, gasped his hatred towards the bastards who would strike a wedding.

War has begun and Wei insists on playing his part in order to bring down the Sun On Yee. Raymond isn’t convinced that Wei hasn’t flipped sides, if only for his emotional attachments, but the meeting ends before he can press the matter further.
