Jackie explains the hit when you pick him up: The 18k have a shipment of stolen diamonds coming into the city at the Kennedy Town docks. He wants to take those goods for the Sun On Yee. During the trip, Jackie is showing signs of breaking under the pressure, and under the knowledge that he has killed someone. Wei knows that Jackie is being set up for a fall, but keeps his mouth shut.
Once at the docks, you’ll wait until nightfall to make your move. After switching into disguise, follow Jackie in to the docks. He needs you to find some way to cut open the locks on the moving trucks. You’ll have to make your way to the shed by any means necessary, and there are multiple routes you can take. The fastest is arguably to climb straight up the building in front of where you and Jackie split up. The guards on the roof can be Fast Talked into letting you by. Yes sirs, pay no attention to the undercover cop parkouring across your rooftop.
From there, it’s a straight shot up a set of stairs, then between a set of cargo containers to jump down a ledge right next to the tool shed entrance. A dockworker may be nearby to challenge you, but it’s possible to Fast Talk him. The door to the warehouse itself is locked, but can be picked. Inside is the cutting tool you need to get into the trucks.
Save yourself the long walk, and take the nearby car over to Jackie’s new location. It certainly is possible to run there on foot, but a vehicle is definitely faster.
Once you get to Jackie, he informs you that there is a group of 18k goons guarding the trucks, but none appear to be armed. You, however, have a small cutting saw, so you should introduce that to them. Unlike other melee weapons, the cutting saw does not run out of uses. This can make short work of the Grapplers and Brawlers guarding the shipment. Once they are taken out, go to the first truck and cut open the lock.
The first truck is a bust, and from a nearby garage, more 18k make an appearance. As before, use the cutting saw to make short work of this quartet, then move on to the next truck. It’s possible to find the shipment right away, or only after checking all of the other trucks. The placement of the diamonds changes between playthroughs of the mission.
Once you do find the shipment, more 18k jump you. They knock Wei down, shove Jackie into the truck, and drive off.
You need to jump onto the nearby motorcycle and chase them down! The truck is surprisingly fast, and makes it to the freeway while you trail behind it. Just keep the throttle open and inch your way closer. Eventually, you can Action Hijack the truck. QTEs will play out in order to maintain your grip on the truck as you work your way to the driver’s cab.
After taking over the truck, Wei quickly runs to the back to help Jackie, but finds that he has defended himself quite well, having dealt with the gangster alone. Grabbing the goods, Jackie is ready to head to the “usual place” to sell the diamonds. The experience has left the man frightened for his life, but Wei assures him that he will always come back for Jackie, no matter what.
A lie told by necessity. As Jackie walks to his meeting, police approach with guns drawn. As he’s arrested, he does one last act of friendship, and tells the officers that he’s alone. Wei can only watch helplessly from the shadows before making his way to safety. On a somber note, the second act draws to a close.
Shortly after the arrest, Ricky texts Wei. He needs to meet him at the K-Bar in Soho.
