Mini Bus Racket

With a bus full of angry Water Street boys, Wei needs to hit each stop along the route in order to declare change in ownership. Stop one is at Braemar Hill, not too far from Mrs. Chu’s restaurant. One of the enforcers leaves the bus to pound the Dogeyes thug standing guard, and you move on to the next stop.

Duke, one of the other enforcers, questions the wisdom of the plan. He is worried about a hostile Triad known as the 18k, or possibly another big-time enforcer within the Sun On Yee named Mr. Tong, coming after them and ending the war violently. It’s becoming more apparent that this scuffle between Red Poles has created rifts in the entire Sun On Yee.

The Lei Tung bus stop is your next destination, but the number of Dogeyes’ people there requires the whole crew to step off the bus and ration unconsciousness to some suckers. There are a number of civilians at this stop, and while they run the moment the brawl starts, be careful about charging around blindly and attacking at anything that moves. Hurting a civvy will cost you Cop points. There are plenty of environmental hazards to use against the enemy here, so take advantage of them to help build up Triad points.

After the first group is beaten, some more thugs may rush down from the overhead walkway near the stop. Be prepared to face them. Once the area is officially in your possession, you’re taken back to the bus to drive to the next stop.

Conroy continues to give Wei a hard time on the way to the Admiralty bus stop. The routes to it available from the second stop all require a bit of finesse to navigate. Couple that with traffic and the longer drive and there’s a lot of potential for accidents.

Once at the stop proper, Conroy offers to deal with the goons there himself. As he prepares to go make a fool of himself, another bus driver whips past the stop, and Conroy shouts for you to pursue him in your own bus.

This next bit is a little tricky. You need to stay within a close distance of the red bus and honk your horn repeatedly to harass them, but you don’t want to ram them. A harassment meter shows how much progress you’ve made trying to intimidate the driver, and it empties if they get too far away. The enemy driver will also not pay much attention to the rules of the road in an effort to escape you, meaning that you could be placed in situations where your own bus is causing serious property damage. Be prepared to react to obstacles as quickly as possible. Eventually, once the meter is filled, the driver comes to a stop and offloads his passengers onto your bus.

With the passengers now aboard your own bus, you need to drop them off at the Night Market. In response to your show of force, a number of Dogeyes’ enforcers show up in sports cars, trying to ram you off the road. Unfortunately for them, you’re in a bus, a much heavier vehicle, and you can use the Ram Attack. Ram them until you’ve finished off the pursuers, then drive to the Night Market. Depending on how long it took you to harass the driver and take out the enemy vehicles, this could be a very long or very short drive.

After beating back the pursuers, a passenger satisfaction meter appears on screen. You now need to drive as safely as possible to avoid emptying the meter. Once you drop off the customers at the Night Market, the mission is complete.
