If you’ve been following along with this chapter thus far, you should have at least twelve of the Power Moon entries checked off the list. This leaves dozens to discover, in addition to the rest of the 100 Regional Coins. Wooded Kingdom has many hidden ledges, tunnels, and caves that, when viewed from a top-down 2D map, can be hard to locate. Pay careful attention to the directions provided, start from the top, and work downward if you can’t find the Power Moon or Regional Coins suggested by the accompanying maps.
Souvenir Shopping
Wooded Kingdom contains 100 Regional Coins in the form of purple nuts. Though most of the 100 coins can be found during your initial visit, you’ll need to return after defeating Bowser to get them all.
Local Currency
The vast majority of the purple coins in Wooded Kingdom can be found while playing through the objectives and seeking out the Power Moons. Many can be found in the forest near the Odyssey, particularly along the wall that surrounds the area, or inside the trunks of a tree. Others can be found in Sky Garden Tower and in Deep Woods and other interior side areas. Here are tips for finding those most easily overlooked:
In Deep Woods, seek out the Boulder with a button on top of it and capture it. Move the Boulder out of the way to enter a tree trunk tunnel for three purple coins.
Enter the maintenance area (where the Beanstalk in Iron Road: Entrance is) as a captured Uproot and use it to reach the three Regional Coins on the shelf behind the beanstalk.
There are four Regional Coins tucked inside a tiny maintenance shaft opposite the Goombette in the Forest Charging Station area. Crouch walk to enter the passage beneath the ivy.
