Super Smash Bros. WiiU/3DS Guide › GAME BASICS

From amiibo Figures to Figure Players!

In Super Smash Bros. for your Nintendo Wii U, you can use amiibo figures to create and train Figure Players—intelligent fighters that learn new tactics as they battle! With the game’s amiibo functionality, activating your personalized fighter is as simple as tapping an amiibo figure to the Wii U GamePad.

Your Figure Players can be used as allies, or they can serve as particularly challenging opponents. The more you interact with one of these fighters, the more it learns. Your amiibo Figure Players can use this knowledge to emulate your fighting style and to determine the best counters for your preferred habits. The more time you spend with a Figure Player, the more it knows you!

Feed your Figure Player any equipment to alter its stats and grant it special abilities. But choose wisely! Any resulting effects will be permanent, and once a piece of equipment is consumed, it’s gone for good. You can also equip your amiibo Figure Players with any of the alternate Special moves you’ve managed to collect for that character.

Challenge your friends to an amiibo figure battle and let your Figure Players duke it out! Has your Figure Player learned enough to be victorious? There’s only one way to find out, and your effort is sure to be rewarded—using your amiibo figure on a friend’s Nintendo Wii U allows your respective Figure Players to exchange helpful gifts!
