Shadow of the Tomb Raider Guide › Trophies & Achievements

Combat

On the Go

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Craft special ammunition 50 times. As you progress through the story, special ammunition is unlocked for your weapons.

Special Ammo Weapon How to Unlock
Fire Arrows Bow Unlocked with bow in Peruvian Jungle.
Flare Rounds Handgun Purchase Serpent’s Glint Skill.
Poison Grenades Rifle Purchase Viper’s Venom Skill.
Lure Arrows Bow Purchase Viper’s Lure Skill.
Concussion Rounds Shotgun Unlocked with shotgun in Cenotes.
Fear Arrows Bow The Jaguar’s Fear Skill is learned as you progress through the story in Porvenir Oil Fields.

Like a Shadow

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 15

Perform stealth takedowns on 25 enemies. Most encounters in Shadow of the Tomb Raider allow for a stealth approach, with extra XP earned for stealth kills. For a simpler time against Trinity forces, make stealth your first choice whenever possible. Approach an enemy from behind until the Melee Attack button appears above his head, then perform a stealth takedown to quietly take him down. In our walkthrough coverage, we often offer a stealth approach to encounters.

Last Known Position

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Lose the enemy 10 times. Even after you’ve been spotted by an enemy and he begins to attack, it’s often possible to escape his sight and return to a stealth battle. Sprint around obstacles and through vegetation as you flee the opposition. Listen to the enemy’s banter for clues as to whether they’ve lost their target.

First Blood

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Perform a stealth takedown from a mud-covered wall. Keep an eye out for mud patches in the Peruvian Jungle. Lathering up with mud allows you to hide against the mud-covered walls. The fact that it also negates the ability of thermal goggles to spot you in vegetation is a nice bonus. Wait for an enemy to get within range, and perform a stealth kill from cover.

Marksman

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 15

Perform 20 headshots with the bow. A headshot against an enemy without a helmet kills in one shot and doesn’t attract extra attention. It’s a great way to eliminate a ranged foe; just be sure he isn’t being watched.

Sixth Sense

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Hunt and kill 10 enemies while Perception is active. The Eye of the Eagle Skill is automatically learned as you follow the story through the Peruvian Jungle. This allows you to consume a Perception plant in order to sense animals and natural resources throughout the environment. The bright highlight makes animals easy to spot as they roam the Peruvian Jungle. Use this to your advantage when hunting more aggressive wildlife, such as jaguars and wolves.

Made to Endure

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Take down 10 enemies while Endurance is active. After learning the Eye of the Eagle Skill, the Heart of the Jaguar Skill becomes available for purchase. Consume Endurance plants to reduce damage from enemy melee and ranged attacks. Consume the plant before bigger battles, and grab the two accompanying Skills to greatly improve the ability.

In the Moment

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Kill 10 enemies while Focus is active. The Scales of the Serpent Skill is unlocked for purchase as you progress through the story in Peruvian Jungle. Focus plants improve reaction responses and slowdown time when aiming. Once it’s activated, a small meter counts down the time, while enemies move in slow motion. Use the Skill against more aggressive foes such as jaguars, wolves, and Yaaxil. The Skill is a huge help when attempting the Gunslinger Trophy/Achievement.

Gunslinger

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Perform three headshots in three seconds with the pistol. The Scales of the Serpent Skill slows down time when aiming. Consume a Focus plant with three enemies in close proximity, and take them all down with quick headshots from the handgun.

Playing with Fire

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Burn two enemies simultaneously. There are numerous explosives in the game, plus Molotov cocktails and fire arrows can be crafted with the correct resources. Find two enemies in close proximity and set them ablaze.

Total Party Kill

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Kill five enemies with friendly fire. You discover the fear arrow as you pass through the Porvenir Oil Fields. Hitting an enemy with the arrow causes him to randomly fire his weapon. Besides ending in death for the victim, one or two other enemies may also be killed in the process. Enemies often toss incendiary devices or shoot fire arrows at you. These can also take out nearby foes who get caught in the fire.

Look, Over There!

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Kill three enemies while they’re distracted. If you throw a bottle, can, or jar within earshot of an enemy, he’ll move to investigate the noise. This provides an opportunity for an easy kill. Silent arrows are also great for distraction, though they need to hit a surface fairly close to your target. Quietly move in for stealth kills while they’re distracted.

Tables Turned

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 5

Kill five enemies while they’re searching for you. A white indicator appears above an enemy’s head when he detects your presence. Once the meter fills, he begins to search for you. Hide in cover until he gets close enough for a stealth kill.

Chain Gang

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Perform the Serpent’s Fury three times. Serpent’s Fury can be purchased for 2 SP, as long as you have Serpent’s Strike (purchase for 1 SP at start), Hurucan’s Mantle (complete Howling Caves challenge tomb in Kuwaq Yaku), or Caiman’s Breath II (complete San Cordoba challenge tomb in Cenotes). This Skill allows you to kill a second enemy during a stealth takedown for a chained takedown.

Surprise!

Trophy: bronze Gamer Points: 10

Perform five Eagle’s Talon takedowns. By solving the calendar puzzle in Kuwaq Yaku’s Temple of Life, you learn the Eagle’s Talon Skill, which provides the ability to string up an enemy with a rope arrow. The Skill allows you to perform a stealth kill from above. Climb a tree and then wait for an enemy to get close enough. Until the Skill is upgraded with the Eagle’s Talon II Skill, the hanging body is visible to nearby enemies.
