In addition to the traditional one-piece outfits from previous games, Shadow of the Tomb Raider introduces customizable outfits for players to mix and match to fit their needs (or personal style).
In the early game, outfits that increase found resources enable Lara to better prepare for combat scenarios or barter with Merchants and upgrade weapons sooner. If combat is proving troublesome, there are outfits that reduce various types of damage. Otherwise, getting bonus XP from hunting and stealth kills can help unlock Skills faster.
Progression Outfits
Lara earns a few outfits as the story progresses. These do not require crafting.
Tactical Adventurer
Type: Legs
Acquisition: Lara’s default outfit.
Description: Canvas pants with polymer-reinforced knees and inseam.

Acquisition: Lara’s default outfit.
Description: Gray tank top. Its moisture-wicking fabric is ideal for the jungle’s humidity.

Description: Beige cotton oxford and green pants. A functional outfit for adventures off the beaten path.

Blue Heron Tunic

Acquisition: Story - Automatically equipped upon entering Paititi for the first time.
Description: This outfit bears the official colors of deposed Queen Unuratu’s family line. Many rebels wear blue in support of the rebellion, and her family’s right to rule.

Acquisition: Story - Automatically equipped upon returning to Paititi after escaping the Cenotes.
Description: Armored tunic and headdress worn by the elite Cult of Kukulkan warriors.

Description: Boots made from the pelt of an empress jaguar. Braided cotton soles provide a sound dampening effect when running.

Vestige Outfits
Most outfits are obtained in the form of Vestiges, either as crypt rewards or by purchasing from Merchants. Vestiges must then be restored at a Base Camp using crafting materials in order for Lara to wear them. If you plan to restore more than one or two pieces, it’s highly recommended unlocking the Anole’s Needle Skill, which drastically reduces the amount of resources needed. The resources needed with and without that skill are noted.
Yaway’s Battle Tunic
