Kuwaq Yaku - Challenge Tombs

Access the Tomb

From the Temple of Death Base Camp, head north and navigate through the jungle. Far to the northeast, the land becomes barren. After the short walkway, leap into the hole to land in the water below. Climb out on the left side.

Follow the trail around to the left to avoid the spikes and then slide down the bloody slope to the left. Be ready to jump at the dry section to reach the craggy wall. Move down, then rappel. Rappel-swing onto the platform and jump onto the stone shelf.

Move right, then jump to the climbable section of the wall. Rappel to the floor below and crawl through the tunnel.

The Tomb Base Camp

Hop down to the ground (1) and pull out your bow. Four wolves enter the cavern. Take them down quickly before they can overwhelm you. The Puma’s Feint Skill is effective against the canines. As one lunges at you with mouth open, evade out of the way. If timed correctly, you get a chance to counter with a finishing move.

With the wolves out of the way, search the cavern and then run toward the fire. Tether a rope between the coil and another above the ledge ahead. Cross the rope and climb the craggy wall to reach the Petroleum Deposit Base Camp.

Clear the Walkway to Reach the Stele

Search the room thoroughly before moving toward the log bridge. Don’t bother attempting to cross it, as a strong wind knocks you off. Scramble up the wall and pass through the doorway to find Xolotl, god of death.

The center path leads directly to the stele, but fire blocks the way. Levers on the sides of the room open and close shutters that allow winds to blow through. Complete these steps to reach the other side:

• Approach the first lever (2) against the right wall and pull it all the way back. Head onto the center walkway and jump onto the pendulum as it swings your way. Move around to the left side, and jump off to the left walkway when within range. As always, be ready to grab on after dangerous jumps.
• Pulling the second lever (3) brings in a breeze that extinguishes the fire on the central walkway. Jump from the angled protrusion to the walkway, then across a second gap to the far side of the room.
• Run left until a fire (4) blocks your progress, then aim your bow toward the rope coil at the top of the pendulum you just set in motion. When it’s fully extended, use a rope arrow to pull it your way. This causes it to smash through a pile of debris that blocks the central pathway. Return to the second lever and push the shutters closed. This allows you to move farther along the walkway.
• Find a protrusion on the left side and use it to reach the third lever (5), which is currently stuck. Climb the wall just right of the lever, and jump and shimmy to the right until you can drop down next to a rope coil.
• Tether a rope between this coil and the previous pendulum. Jump onto the rope and monkey-crawl back to the jammed lever. Return to the second lever and open the shutters to remove the obstruction blocking the lever. Close the shutters and make your way once again back to the third lever.
• Open the next shutters until another fire is put out, then close them. Jump over to the central walkway, and follow it left all the way to the stele. Learn the new Skill, then follow the middle path back to the Base Camp.

Exit the Tomb

From here you can fast-travel to another Base Camp, or follow the trail between the camp and room you just exited. Leap to the climbable wall and climb up. Follow the trail as you slide down the short slope.

Jump up the ledges on the right, then slide down the zipline into the water. Climb and scramble up the wall ahead. Tightrope across the horizontal pole, and ascend another climbable wall. Jump off the pole ahead to return to the earlier path.
