The Hidden City —
Find the Silver Box of Ix chel

Leap toward the craggy wall (1) and grab on with the Grapple Axe. Rappel down and swing to the floor. A barrier blocks the exit. Spot the rope-wrapped switch in the left corner ahead and hit it with a rope arrow to release the oil and blood. Then push the switch in the middle of the room to add fire. This sets the barrier on fire and provides a way through.

At the end of the tunnel, jump onto another craggy wall. Rappel down and drop into a bloodletting chamber (2). This time the flammable material sits on the right and the fire on the left. These combine in the middle and flow down the steps into a maze of channels. Currently the channels lead into a hole on the left. You must rotate the two pillars so a continuous channel runs down the steps, through the two circular mazes, and into the barrier that sits behind the right pillar. Note that each of the circular pieces that rotates around a pillar has four arrows that fit into triangular cutouts around the perimeter. This means that there are only four usable positions for each pillar.

After Lara rappels down and swings to the floor, this Mural can be found alongside the right wall.

• Stand next to the right pillar and tether a rope from there to the top of the left pillar.
• Grab ahold of the arm that extends from the left pillar and rotate 180 degrees. Cut the rope.
• Grab the arm again and rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise.
• Return to the top of the steps and move right so that you’re standing next to the switch. Aim your bow across the room at the rope-wrapped lever and loose a rope arrow. Push the switch and watch the liquid flow into the barrier. Don’t get too close to the explosion!

Once the barrier is cleared, walk into the next chamber to complete the region.
