Eye of the Serpent —
Find the Inner Stronghold

Leap toward the wall (1), grab on, and rappel into the temple. Scramble onto the platform on the other side of the room, then tightrope across the beam to the walkway. Continue to follow the checkpoints by jumping over to the stone structure ahead. Shimmy and jump to the right until you reach another walkway. This leads to the Mountain Temple Base Camp.

Search the room on the right for some valuables before scrambling up the stone wall just left of the room. Hop the gap and slide down the rope to reach the lower level. Sneak up on the lone cultist and finish him off with a stealth takedown.

Move up the steps on the right, scramble through the small opening, and duck behind the short wall (2). Pick up the mason jar, craft a smoke bomb, and throw it between the foes. Quickly move in and finish them off before the debilitating smoke wears off.

Exit out the far side and follow the corridor to the right. This leads into a huge cavern (3), where eight cultist soldiers train for combat. Two work on melee fighting in the middle, while the others train around the outer walkways. The exit is located on the far wall. A mud patch is available to the right, and mason jars are on many of the ledges. The following details one way to clear the room, though there are countless strategies available.

• Enter the right tunnel and use the mud patch. Scramble over to the small wall and observe the pair of soldiers on the right. After one guy leaves, pull the lone enemy behind the wall for a stealth kill.
• Move right along the short wall, up the steps, and to the far side of the upper platform. If a soldier stands near the water, wait for him to move to the far corner. Drop down, then sneak to the left and take out the stationary guard who faces the other way.
• Find the soldier you watched move to the next corner, and perform a stealth kill on the guy.
• Return to the mud patch and continue around to a small room on the left, grabbing a jar along the way. One soldier patrols between you and the two in the center. Throw the jar against the mud-covered wall. When the guy investigates, perform a stealth kill out of sight from the others.
• Grab the jar from inside the room, craft a smoke bomb, approach the two sparring in the center of the cavern. Fling the bomb in between them and quickly kill them with your knife.
• Two cultists remain near the exit. Use another smoke bomb to obscure their vision, and eliminate them.

Climb the wall right of the gate. Lara uses the wheel to open the exit.

Find the Silver Box of Ix Chel

Once you regain control, slip through the narrow opening to get a look at the “Eye of the Serpent.”

• Leap right off the walkway to the craggy cliff and scale to the left. When you can’t go any farther, jump left to a shelf. If Lara loses her grip, quickly grab on.
• Shimmy around the right corner and scale down. Rappel down just below the vegetation. Wall run left, then right, and swing from the pole to another climbable cliff face. Be ready to throw the Grapple Axe if it looks like the jump will be short.
• Move to the left side and rappel down until you can dismount to the plateau below.
• Sprint along the right edge of the rock, leap toward the metal hook, and throw the Grapple Axe. This throws you toward a temple entrance.
• Enter and leap onto the climbable surface (4). Drop into the water below to enter Cenotes.
