The pirate settlement of Ventureland is in a state of disrepair. Your first order of business? Ask around for some clues.

Seek out the pirate Beluga Billy near the train station. With Captain Hook gone, he wants to become the pirates’ new leader. You’ll get the optional quest A Captain’s Life for Me, which you can complete while exploring the zone. Skip to waypoint 26 for the quest walkthrough.

Pass the shop and train station for now, and head to the Duck News Network (DNN) station.

Inside the DNN building, Daisy wraps up a news broadcast as you enter. Daisy suggests you investigate the local construction site. To get there, you’ll have to repair the broken water wheel elevator, and that requires a gear in the possession of Smee. Daisy has a plan to retrieve the gear, but you’ll have to get Captain Hook’s Costume first.

A red chest between the train station and the DNN building holds the first piece of Captain Hook’s Costume. Paint the chest and retrieve Captain Hook’s Coat.

Next head over to the corner of the DNN building near the water wheel. Oswald can toss Mickey up to the roof from here. Hop from the DNN roof over to the train station roof.

When you reach the train station roof, paint the missing section and the nearby chest. Snatch Captain Hook’s Hat from inside the red chest.

Return to the bridge at the entrance of Ventureland. Look for a Thinner moat running under the bridge, and hop down to the small platform in the middle of the moat.

Next to the platform in the Thinner moat sits a red chest. Paint the chest to recover Captain Hook’s Hook.

Look for the last piece to the right of the starting bridge next to a large tree in front of Captain Hook’s quarters. Peek behind the tree to spot a red chest. Paint it for Captain Hook’s Sword.

Once you have assembled Captain Hook’s Costume, return it to Daisy Duck or Smee. Smee will trade you a pass for a secret passage in Tiki Sam’s shop that leads to the Thinner Cruise Ride. However, if you take the costume to Daisy, you gain access to an elevated path through the level.

Before taking the costume to Daisy, make a quick stop at Tiki Sam’s shop. Pick up the new Anvil Sketch to add another ability to your arsenal.

OPTIONAL QUESTS

GIANT PEARL

You can also purchase the Giant Pearl in Tiki Sam’s shop for the optional quest A Captain’s Life for Me.

THE WASTELAND LIMITED

Put your new Anvil Sketch to use! Crush the wrecked building in front of the train station to get the station back operational again.

Once you finish the extra errands, return to the DNN building and give Daisy the Captain Hook Costume. She tells you to set up the costume on the dummy outside the Captain’s Quarters. The fake Captain excites Smee, but he soon sniffs out the ruse. Despite your trickery, Smee regains his dedication to Captain Hook, hands over the gear, and resumes the search for the missing Hook.

Take the gear over to the broken elevator near the water wheel. Stand by the elevator and use the gear to repair it.

Anvil Sketch

The last sketch summons a heavy anvil that comes crashing down. The anvil can stun enemies, give you something to jump from when you need an extra boost, and break some objects for quests.

Ventureland Train Conductor Pin

After you repair the Ventureland train station, the Conductor rewards you with the Ventureland Train Conductor Pin.

At the top of the elevator, Oswald can toss Mickey high up in the air. You’ll land on the canopy above where you can collect another pin.

They Have Their Trunks On Pin

The red chest on top of the canopy above the elevator contains the They Have Their Trunks On Pin.

Paint the walkways and the treehouse on the left. This treehouse leads to the elevated level above the Thinner Cruise Ride, but come back here after finding a couple more collectibles.

OPTIONAL QUEST

CREATIVE THREEDOM

The last treehouse on the elevated walkway is home to the recording studio for the Three Little Pigs.

Bronze Pin

The red chest behind the thinned wall on top of the Captain’s Quarters contains a Bronze Pin.

Jump down to the roof of the Captain’s Quarters from the elevated walkway and collect the golden Cloth.

Jump back up to the elevated walkway and enter the first treehouse to head toward the Thinner Cruise Ride area.

The first treehouse contains a passage that leads to the elevated path above the Thinner Cruise Ride. On the first platform, Mickey can fling Oswald in the air and the two of you can glide over to the platform ahead of you.

After landing, look around the other side of the tree and notice the drawbridge tied to the tree. Thin out the rope so the drawbridge drops down for use.

Concept Art 26

Paint the platform to the left of the dropped drawbridge. Pick up the piece of concept art off to the side.

Continue onward to the large tree trunk. Another drawbridge ahead leads to a tunnel; however, you can’t access the drawbridge until you remove a pair of planks on the bottom. Have Oswald chuck his Boomarmerang and knock down the planks.

The second drawbridge leads to a tunnel connecting to the construction area. To get all the collectibles, you have to backtrack or float down and take an alternate route along the Thinner Cruise Ride. If you wish to continue along the main path instead, skip ahead to waypoint 19.

The alternate path to the Thinner Cruise Ride takes you along the bottom path and can be accessed by the secret tunnel at the bottom of Tiki Sam’s shop. You can either pay Tiki Sam to open the secret tunnel or give Captain Hook’s Costume to Smee to get a free pass for the tunnel.

The Thinner Cruise Ride consists of two boats traveling in circles around a lake of Thinner. Hop on the canopies of the boats to travel around the area.

While you ride around on the boats, elephant statues blow steam out of their trunks that can knock you off the boats. Thin out the trunks of the elephant statues to pass by safely.

You also encounter Sweepers during the Thinner Cruise Ride. Spray them from a distance or jump over to their platforms and knock them into the Thinner.

Concept Art 9

Enter the door on the ledge near the start of the Thinner Cruise Ride to find the concept art inside.

The tunnel with the concept art inside leads to the back of Tiki Sam’s shop. Explore the area for a blue chest and a wall you can thin to enter the back of the shop. A large drum also sits near the fence, allowing you to bounce back to town.

Mad Doctor’s Labcoat

Open the blue chest behind Tiki Sam’s shop to find the labcoat from the Mad Doctor Costume for Oswald.

OPTIONAL QUEST

A CAPTAIN’S LIFE FOR ME

Enter the back door of Tiki Sam’s shop. The Giant Pearl floats inside the room, and you can easily scoop it up for free. However, taking the pearl means that Tiki Sam’s shop will be closed to you from now on.

Head back to the Thinner Cruise Ride and get on the boat. Stay on the boat until it takes you to a tunnel on the far side of the Thinner lake.

Once you pass through the tunnel at the end of the Thinner Cruise Ride, you enter the Thinner falls below the construction site. To reach the cliff above, thin out the platforms holding up the houses in the newly established Blotling settlement.

Thin the supports of the house to the left. The house crashes down into the Thinner and you can now leap over to it.

Blotling Booty Pin

Enter the crashed Blotling house in the Thinner falls to find a red chest with the Blotling Booty Pin.

Climb back to the top and exit the house. Thin out the supports of the next Blotling house, and once it has fallen into the Thinner, paint the wooden supports back in to use as a platform.

Repeat the process for all the houses in the area. After the houses have fallen, paint the support platforms and use the scaffolding to climb up to the top of the cliff.

OPTIONAL QUEST

OPERATION GREMLIN DROP

Rescue another Green Gremlin inside the cave near the construction site.

After you free the Gremlin, he returns to the broken Crow’s Nest back in town. He can help you repair certain things in the area in exchange for Scrap Metal.

Finally, you reach the construction site. Pete Pan has been put in charge of keeping everyone out. Bribe Pete Pan with E-tickets to gain entrance or use a TV Sketch to distract him and pass by.

If you want to use Invisible Ink or Indelible Ink to get into the construction site, stop by the Ink Well. With Indelible Ink, you can walk through the Thinner falls to gain entrance to the construction site. With Invisible Ink, you can walk by Pete Pan to gain entrance.

Concept Art 39

Enter the Blotling house next to Pete Pan’s booth to retrieve the concept art inside.

On your way to the projector, decide what to do about the inoperative crane at the construction site. You can choose to restore the crane with Paint or destroy it with fireworks.

Bronze Pin

A red chest next to the crane in the construction site contains another Bronze Pin.

For the restorative Paint path, have Oswald shock the console and a side panel opens up. Paint in the missing gears to repair the equipment. The working crane sets down a pile of lumber that helps you climb the cliff.

If you would rather take the destructive Thinner path, thin out the tiki masks around the Ink Well to turn it into Indelible Ink. Go for a dip and use your golden armor to pass through the Thinner falls into the back of the construction site.

Drop down and thin out the far wall to find the fireworks dispenser.

Retrieve some fireworks and drag them over to the blast wall under the crane. Set off the fireworks to destroy the crane, which leaves some debris to climb on.

Regardless of how you handle the crane, climb the lumber or the metal ruin to get up to the ledges along the wall.

OPTIONAL QUEST

FINDING THE HIDDEN HEROES

Look for a hidden Mickey symbol behind a toon wall near the cliff by the crane.

When you reach the top of the cliff, spot the large door back across the way. Mickey should toss Oswald up and glide over with him to the wooden platform.

Paint in the door’s control console and have Oswald reprogram it to open the door. If you destroyed the crane, however, it breaks open the door.

Hard Hat Area

Playstation 3 Trophy: Bronze

Xbox 360 Gamer Points: 20

For completing the Ventureland area, you unlock the Hard Hat Area challenge.

The small alcove behind the large door contains a secret projector that isn’t part of the main projector network. Prescott created the projector to reach a secret project area: Autotopia.

OPTIONAL QUEST

A CAPTAIN’S LIFE FOR ME

The optional quest, A Captain’s Life for Me, has you help either Damien Salt or Beluga Billy become the new captain of the pirates.

Both quests require you to get the Giant Pearl from Tiki Sam. You can buy it from Tiki Sam, take it from his back room, or trade the Pearl of Wisdom from Autotopia for it.

To help Damien Salt, take the Giant Pearl up to the Tiki Cave on the ledge above the Thinner falls in town. Climb up from the roof of the DNN building to reach the Tiki Cave. Use the Giant Pearl on the Tiki Cave by inserting it into the Tiki Head. To activate the Giant Pearl, you need sunlight to strike it.

Paint in the three mirrors hidden around town to get the sunlight to reflect in the right spot. The first mirror rests on top of the train station, near where you found the red chest with Captain Hook’s Hat. Paint the mirror here to start the reflection.

Next take the elevator by the waterwheel up and paint the mirror on the canopy above.

Finally, paint the last mirror above the tree house that leads to the Thinner Cruise Ride upper level.

Once you paint all three mirrors, the light reflects to the Giant Pearl you placed in the Tiki Head, opening a secret entrance.

The red chest inside the secret entrance contains the unique item, Hook’s Treasure.

Love Conquers All Pin

When you return Hook’s Treasure to Damien Salt, he becomes the new captain and rewards you with the Love Conquers All Pin.

Thin out the side wall leading into the back room of the Captain’s Quarters. If you helped Beluga Billy become captain, you can access the red chest in the room.

Booty to the Head Pin

Once Beluga Billy becomes captain, the sleeping pirate leaves in the back room of the Captain’s Quarters. With the pirate gone, you can open the red chest and obtain the special pin.

The other candidate you can help become captain is Beluga Billy, who is outside the train station. He needs you to find the Map of Tortuga so he can become captain and lead the pirates back there. Start out by retrieving the Giant Pearl and take it to the Captain’s Quarters.

Discover the Map of Tortuga inside the hidden library. To open up the way to the library, place the Giant Pearl in the holder on the desk inside the Captain’s Quarters.

With the Giant Pearl in place, three hidden levers pop up around town. The first lever is right outside the Captain’s Quarters, between the tree and the fountain. Use a Spin Attack on the lever to activate it.

The second lever protrudes on the other side of the tree. Thin out the toon section of the tree on the bottom near the red chest. Use a Spin Attack on the lever in the hidden compartment to activate it.

You can find the final lever on the roof of the train station, near the red chest. Flip this switch and Gus tells you he heard a sound back near the starting projector.

Go inspect the bridge at the start to see that a dam has blocked off the Thinner running under the bridge. A secret door has appeared now that the Thinner has disappeared.

The door leads to the secret library. Pick up the Map of Tortuga from the red chest and return it to Beluga Billy.

Careful Planning Pin

Once you return the Map of Tortuga to Beluga Billy, he becomes captain and rewards you with the Careful Planning Pin.
