Prescott’s Cannon has two tanks on the back that can be filled with Paint or Thinner. There is a funnel below the tanks that you can spray into to fill the tanks. To finish the fight, you have to fill one of the tanks three times.
Below the Cannon is an electrical force field. Stepping on the force field knocks you back and causes damage, so watch the floor and avoid the force field.
The Cannon pops up in the middle of the arena and stays in that spot the whole fight. While Mickey deals with the main threat, Oswald can run circles around the Cannon to draw fire away his partner.
The main attack is a fast-moving cannonball. The Cannon targets Mickey or Oswald, and the cannonball fires at the location where you were standing. If you keep moving, you can avoid the explosions. You can also use a Spin Attack to deflect the cannonballs back at the cannon.
Its secondary attack is a Thinner grenade. The Cannon occasionally lobs out these grenades in a circle around it. You have a few seconds to avoid the explosion, but it will thin out large portions of the floor where you need to be to reach the tanks. After the explosions, you have to spend time painting the floor back in so you can get into range of the tanks.
There is a limit to these Thinner grenades, though. When the Cannon runs out of ammo, it reaches up to one of the three floating nozzles and refills its supply.
The first thing you should do at the start of the fight is disable the refill nozzles. You can thin the wires on the side of each nozzle and they will drop down to show they are broken. If you can disable all three nozzles, the Cannon loses the Thinner grenade attack.
Once you have taken care of the refill nozzles, concentrate on filling up the tanks. Try to get Mickey behind the Cannon and fill up one of the tanks while Oswald distracts the Cannon.
Even though Oswald might distract the Cannon, Mickey still has to dodge fire constantly. To counter this, use a Spin Attack to deflect the cannonballs back at the Cannon. If you can hit it three times, the Cannon is stunned for a few seconds, giving you the perfect opportunity to fill up the tanks.
Once a tank is full, the Cannon straightens out and attaches to a nozzle above to empty the tank. While this is happening, a console on its underside is exposed. Have Oswald reprogram the console to damage the Cannon.
The reprogrammed console causes the Cannon to release from the nozzle and spill Paint or Thinner all over it. If you can repeat this two more times, you defeat the Cannon.
When you get an opportunity during the fight, look for a door to the west of the Arena. Oswald must reprogram the door to get it open.
Gold Pin
Inside the locked room on the west side of the arena you will find a red chest with a Gold Pin.
After you damage the Cannon for the first time, the electrical field below the Cannon extends a few lines from the middle. You have to jump over or run around these fields for the rest of the fight.
Use the Watch Sketch as often as possible during the fight. Even though the clock doesn’t last for a long time, you can dodge fire easily and also get behind the Cannon as it turns slowly while the clock is up. If you manage to get behind the Cannon and then use the Watch, you’ll have extra time to fill up the tank.
There are light bars all around the room that show your progress for the fight. You have to fill three tanks, so the bars light up each time you fill a tank.
Fill up the tank a second time using the tricks from before. Once the Cannon has risen, have Oswald reprogram the console again.
Finally, fill the third tank to finish off the Cannon.
After the Cannon’s tanks have been filled for the third time, it points up and then sinks back into the floor from whence it came. Prescott has one more large surprise in store for you, though. The real boss fight will go differently depending on whether you used Paint or Thinner on two or more tanks during this fight.
After you beat Prescott’s Cannon, you discover that you were fighting inside a giant Mech that Prescott constructed. You exit the mouth and enter a new arena where you have to face off against the Mech itself.
Your objective is to get the huge spiked walls on the sides of the Mech to close on it. But how will you pull that off?
The Mech’s main attack flings large pieces of junk up in the air at you. They target wherever you are standing and fall down a couple of seconds later.
Stand on one of the six metal plates on the ground of the arena as the junk is tossed. Move out of the way before the junk lands, and it will strike the plate, slowly breaking it open. You can also use the Anvil Sketch to break open the plates.
Each plate has to be hit three times to break open. Black marks appear on a plate the first time it is hit. The second time, light will creep through. On the third hit, the plate finally breaks open.
Occasionally, the Cannon inside the Mech’s mouth shoots cannonballs at you. Simply avoid these until it starts flinging junk again.
For half the plates, once they are broken they reveal a thinned-out gear underneath. You need to paint the gear back into place to begin repairing the spiked wall’s control mechanism.
The other half of the plates have electric consoles underneath instead. These consoles are linked to the gears and, after a gear has been repaired, it can be powered up with the connecting console.
When you begin to re-power the gears, the Mech notices the spiked walls being fixed and begins to worry.
Finish repairing all the gears once the plates have all been broken open. After the gears are all back in place, have Oswald turn on any remaining consoles to activate the spiked walls and trap the Mech.
Second Chance Pin
You receive the Second Chance Pin for beating the boss using the Paint method.
As the walls close in on the boss, Prescott ejects and is taken into custody for his actions.
You encounter the Thinner version of Prescott’s Mech if you used Thinner to defeat Prescott’s Cannon. You also start at this point if you used the secret Old Mill projector from the Floatyard.
The Mech’s arms fall off before the start of this fight, so things will go very differently than the Paint version. His main attack is the same cannonball attack you encountered in the Cannon fight.
Also like Prescott’s Cannon fight, the Mech shoots Thinner grenades that must be avoided.
Lastly, there is a spinning spike wheel near the end of the platform, and the Mech uses a giant fan to pull you into the spikes if you get close to it. Make sure you drop whatever you are doing when this happens and just run away.
To defeat the Mech, thin out his armor face mask.
After the armor mask has been completely thinned out, Gus instructs you to knock back a cannonball into the Mech’s mouth. As the cannonball approaches you, use a Spin Attack to deflect the cannonball back toward the Mech and hopefully into the mouth.
After you strike a hit with a deflected cannonball, the Mech’s head shakes violently and his armor face mask paints back in.
Hit the Mech in the head three times and it starts to smoke as it crumbles to the ground.
Napoleon Complex Pin
After you defeat the Thinner version of the boss, you are rewarded with the Napoleon Complex Pin.
Prescott ejects from the crumbling heap and awaits capture. You can return to the Arena later to find a projector to the Gag Factory in OsTown and a red chest with a Gold Pin behind the projector.
