Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two eGuide Walkthrough Episode 1

The Control Room

LEVEL OVERVIEW

Oswald needs his Remote Control! First, you must figure out how to regain the Remote Control trapped in the first set of machines so that Oswald can begin to use his Electricity powers. Next you must get to the main control room and figure out how to release a series of platforms to reach the escape ledge high up in the chamber, or blow a hole through the wall by disrupting the machinery. You might collect a few goodies along the way, too.

Things to Do

  • Jump down to the first set of machines
  • Recover Oswald’s Remote Control
  • Collect the pins in the area
  • Use the manual lift to reach the main control room
  • Activate the three machines to release the ascending platforms
  • Climb the platforms to reach the escape ledge

Again, the earthquake strikes and the next corridor cracks and splinters in front of you. Smash the chests on either side of the corridor to collect some extra resources before jumping off the ledge and down into the Storage Room.

A pool of Thinner corrodes the far side of the room. Gus points out that Oswald’s Remote Control is trapped and the players must work together to free it.

Paint in the lever on the machine behind Oswald’s Remote Control. This enables Oswald to throw his Boomarmerang and recover the Remote Control without ever touching the Thinner.

After you free Oswald’s Remote Control, a section of the tunnel falls in and reveals an exit passage. Floating above the new rubble is a generic Bronze Pin, which can be traded with the Pin Trader in Mean Street North.

Bronze Pin

Bronze Pins are the least valuable pins you can earn. They are worth a single Generic Pin, while Silver Pins are worth three Generic Pins and Gold Pins are worth five Generic Pins. Save up your Generic Pins to use at the Pin Trader in Mean Street North. You can buy unique pins in the shop to complete quests or just spruce up your collection.

Now you can exit the room and enter the turnstile elevator. Mickey and Oswald need to take opposite sides, and players should push up on their movement controllers to raise the whole platform slowly.

The lift leads up to the main control room. Approach the big machine with the dial on its front and the blue control panel to its right.

Oswald should use his Remote Control on the first machine. Point at the blue control panel and keep a steady Electricity Beam on the panel until all three lights atop light up, or use your Electricity Blast to charge the control panel quickly.

A blue chest sits next to the first machine. Unlike red chests, which can be spun open, blue chests need Oswald’s Electricity to unlock. Just as you did with the first machine, point at the control panel, hit it with a steady stream or a quick burst of Electricity and unlock the chest. You’ll gain a costume piece for Oswald: Track Runner Wristbands.

Move across the chamber to the second machine. Mickey and Oswald must work together to operate this one. As Mickey pulls the pulls the Mickey-shaped lever on the right, Oswald must trigger an Electricity Blast to charge two control panels at once.

COSTUME PIECE

TRACK RUNNER WRISTBANDS

The blue chest in the control room holds the first costume piece you find for Oswald. As with Mickey’s costume pieces, you need a set of three to be able to change into a full costume. See the Mad Hatter shop in Mean Street South for more costume pieces and a changing room to switch costumes.

The third machine also requires cooperation. First, Mickey needs to paint the missing pipe above the machine. Next, Oswald must charge up the control panel to the right. With this machine active, the whole room comes to life. Alternatively, if you’d rather choose the Thinner path, thin out the bracket on the wall holding the cable. This causes the cable to fall down and feed back into the machine. If Oswald shocks the control panel, the machine overloads and blows a hole in the wall. You’ll find the Beauty Only Thin-Deep Pin inside the new passage to the courtyard.

Several platforms fold out from the central mechanism, and you can jump up these platforms to reach the exit ledge high above.

Jump up to the third platform. Turn right to spot a ledge with some machinery and destructible chests. If you want some extra resources, including some Scrap Metal, make a quick detour to this side ledge.

Continue jumping until you reach the final circular platform. With Mickey, take a running start and double-jump over to the last machinery ledge. With Oswald, jump up and glide over to the ledge. Smash the chest for more resources before continuing.

Make the final jump over to the ledge leading into the train station area.

Beauty Only Thin-Deep Pin

You gain the Beauty Only Thin-Deep Pin if you choose the Thinner path over the Paint path in the Control Room. Instead of navigating to the top ledge, thin out the cable holding the final machine in place and have Oswald shock the control panel to blow a hole in the wall. You gain the pin and a shortcut to the courtyard beyond.
