LEVEL OVERVIEW

The animated brooms have been busy since you went to fetch the Magic Brush, and now Yen Sid’s Observatory is flooded! You’ll need to topple the telescope and divide the floating planets to make a path up to the balcony. Once you’re in Yen Sid’s study, you’ll get to make your first big choice: will you use Paint to unlock the secret door back to the Map Room, or will you use Thinner?

With the illusion of Mickey’s house broken, you can walk right into Yen Sid’s Observatory. Water pours into the chamber from picture frames and the animated brooms that continue to dump water into the chamber. A large telescope dominates the far end of the Observatory, while four planets circle overhead.

To reach the upper level, you must topple the telescope. Shoot a steady stream of Thinner onto the base of the telescope, which will bring it down. You’ve now created a ramp to the upper level.

To recover a green E-ticket, (worth 30 regular tickets) thin out the second painting on the wall to the left of the telescope.

There are two more green E-tickets underwater. To reach the hidden chests holding the green tickets, you must prevent water from spilling onto the floor. Start with the painting to the left of the alcove where you just uncovered the green E-ticket. Paint in the painting and you’ll see the water stop pouring through the hole in that wall.

Use Thinner on the mops casting water into the room. You’ll have to take care of all the mops down here, and the ones on the wall above.

When you’re ready, climb up the telescope to the upper level. You can get a great view from up here to plan your route to the balcony.

To see a nice hidden Mickey, thin out the stained-glass window near the telescope. You’ll see Mickey’s constellation shining brightly up in the night sky.

Continue along the upper level and paint in the wing of the flying contraption suspended from the ceiling. This creates a platform so you can hop up to reach the planets.

From atop the flying contraption, use Thinner on the closest planet. The top half will plummet to the ground below, while the bottom half will float there, thinned out. Now paint it back in to form a half-sphere platform. Leap onto your new platform and collect an E-ticket.

Repeat the process with the second planet. Double-jump from the first half-sphere to the second half-sphere.

Before you leave the area, there are two underwater chests to discover. Make sure you thin all the brooms dumping water into the room and paint in all the paintings pouring water into the room. Once you’ve done all that, two chests will rise out of the dry floor.

Drop down to the floor below. To avoid damage, perform a Spin Attack halfway down to slow your descent. Open the chests on either side of the telescope for more green E-tickets.

When you’re ready to leave the Observatory, take a running start from the second half-sphere and double-jump over to the balcony.

Once you step inside Yen Sid’s study, you will be given a choice: paint in the picture, thus discovering a red chest, or thin out the painting, uncovering a golden E-ticket.

Mouseterpiece Pin

When you reach the balcony room in the Observatory, if you choose to paint the door back to the map room, you earn the Mouseterpiece Pin. You also complete the Apprentice Pin Collector challenge.

Apprentice Pin Collector

To enter the map room at the end of Yen Sid’s Lab, you must choose to use Paint or Thinner on the door. If you choose to paint the door, you earn the Mouseterpiece Pin and complete the “Apprentice Pin Collector” challenge. The shiny new challenge icon you unlocked may only be made of bronze, but you can earn more valuable metals by shooting for the Devoted Pin Collector (88 pins) and the Master Pin Collector (176 pins).

JUNCTION POINT

WASTELAND MAP

Before you can meet up with Oswald, Ortensia, and Gus in Wasteland, you must make your first major Paint or Thinner choice. If you paint the door leading to the map room, you complete the Apprentice Pin Collector challenge and earn the Mouseterpiece Pin. If you thin the door, you don’t earn the Mouseterpiece Pin, but you do gain a golden E-ticket worth 100 E-tickets.

Walk down the corridor that just expanded behind the magic painting to collect your reward at the end. If you used Paint, you will be given a unique Collectible Pin. If Thinner, you earned a golden E-ticket worth 100 E-tickets.

Back in the map room, Mickey jumps up onto the table and uses Paint to activate the magic map. One jump through and he lands in Dark Beauty Castle, where he is reunited with his friends Oswald, Ortensia, and Gus.

And now the real adventure begins!
