Optional Objectives

West-Indies Sea
Disrupting the Supply Chain
Bastienne informs Adewale of an incoming slave ship and Adewale can’t help but want to liberate the slaves aboard it posthaste. After cinematic, you’re thrust aboard the Experto Crede in the West-Indies sea with the slave ship directly ahead.
In order to get the “Take less than 50% damage ...” Optional Objective, you must keep your distance from the slave ship’s escort. Get within mortar range of the enemy ships, while taking care not to attack the slave ship, and begin launching mortars and chase cannonballs at them. This Optional is quite easy if you’ve upgraded your ship at all and know how to manage it.
Stay on the move and brace yourself whenever the enemy launches a counterattack to limit the amount of damage you take while fighting the escorts. Whenever you successfully land a cannon attack, use your swivel cannon to strike any weak points that your crew calls out to do extra damage.
After you sink two of the three escort ships, the final one turns and begins to attack the slave ship to prevent you from freeing the slaves. Quickly sink the final ship.
Steer toward the heavily damaged slave ship and board it. As soon as the ship is pulled in close, swing onto it and head toward the waypoint to enter the lower decks of the ship.
No Time to Waste!
Belowdecks, your job is to free as many slaves as you can before the ship sinks. If you can liberate 15 slaves before water fills the ship you’ll be awarded your second Optional Objective.
To free the slave ship’s victims you must head to any of the shining pillars and press the button on-screen to begin a quick-time event which, upon completion, will lead to the salvation of the ship’s captives.
You’ll need to pay attention to the weapon Adewale pulls out when trying to break the chains wrapped around the pillars if you want to know what quick-time event is about to begin. If he pulls out his blunderbuss, it means he’s going to try to hit the chains to break them. This quick-time event requires that you press the buttons that appear on-screen as they appear. After three button presses, the chains will break.
If Adewale pulls out his machete, it means he’s going to try to use his blade as leverage while attempting to snap the chains. Your job, upon seeing the assassin’s melee weapon, is to mash the button that appears on the screen as quickly as possible.
Walk around the walls of the room to find the chained prisoners and free them as you locate the glowing pillars. Once you’ve freed your third set of captives, a cinematic plays. Water bursts through a previously blocked door. At the scene’s conclusion, head through the door and begin freeing the slaves on your left. After you free your fifth set of captives, you’re awarded the second Optional Objective for this mission.
Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time to free everyone on the ship. Once you run out of time or free 15 slaves, the ship begins to capsize and your new task is to escape.
Swim through the doorway directly ahead of you and into the waypoint in the middle of the room.
Adewale opens a hatch into another part of the ship. Swim through and continue into the passage to the right.
Touch the waypoint and turn left, then take another left at the end of the passage. Swim through the opening marked by the next waypoint and a cinematic will play.
Now Adewale has his head above water once again. Immediately climb onto the wood mounted to the wall slightly to your left.
Climb across the green column to the right of the wooden elements you just scaled.
Grab hold of the iron rings at the end of the green column’s path and begin to make your way up.
Climb as high as you can, then lean to the right and Adewale jumps to the next handhold.
Scale this support until you reach its top, then jump to the left and climb around the pillar.
Stand on the pillar, then run and jump for the iron rings ahead of you.
Climb up to the wood lining the wall above the second ring, and shimmy right and grab the iron ring above you.
Jump to the ring to the right of the one you’re currently gripping and climb upward until you can’t climb any higher. Jump left toward the waypoint and climb straight up to exit the sinking ship.
Adewale and friends mourn the loss of those who could not be freed before the ship flooded, preparing to strike back at the one who allowed this to happen.
MEMORY END
Finishing Touches
After the cinematic, you are back aboard the Experto Crede. You can either fast travel to the Maroon hideout to proceed with your final mission, or you can wrap up any side quests you haven’t completed yet. Once you start the next mission you won’t get a chance to do anything else until you finish the game.
