Welcome to the official strategy guide for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Our guide was constructed with much gracious assistance from the Naughty Dog and Sony teams in Santa Monica, where we spent 35 amazing days in the testing room, surrounded by intensity so thick you could slice it with a pirate cutlass. The result is a book that covers every nook and cranny of this game.
Here’s how to use it:
- First, we highly recommend that you read through our Basics chapter, even if you’ve already played significant minutes of the game. The reason: We picked up some invaluable inside info from the design team that may not be readily apparent when you’re humping through Shoreline-infested jungles or hanging by two fingernails from a sheer cliff face. In particular, we suggest you review our Combat section. The Stealth and Enemy Awareness sections alone may be worth the price of admission. You’ll learn a lot about the weapons and enemy types, too.
- Second, check out our Story Walkthrough when you’re stuck. Our route maps give you a move-by-move, grip-by-grip guide through every exterior area as well as each of the trickier interior spaces. We also steer you to every collectible item—Treasures, Optional Conversations, Optional Journal Notes, and Optional Journal Entries—and give you tips for completing chapter-specific Trophy challenges. In the case of Treasures, we always add a screenshot to help you locate the item; we do the same for other collectibles that are difficult to spot.
- And finally, speaking of collectibles, you can refer to the lists in our Extras chapter for a quick look at all items/events available in each game chapter. You also get a quick description of where they’re located.
