Mafia III eGuide Story Missions

SOUTHDOWNS: Burn Like Napalm

Mission: “Kill Tommy Marcano”

See Donovan for More on Tommy Marcano

Prerequisite: Complete “Rescue Alvarez”

Find Donovan’s blue van in the parking lot (1) of the Drive-In restaurant and approach the passenger side window.

This triggers a series of cutscenes: The Marcano brothers bemoan the loss of Alvarez, but still don’t take Lincoln Clay as seriously as they should. In the Senate hearing, Donovan explains how Lincoln planned to use a former associate of Sammy Robinson to get into Tommy Marcano’s boxing club, The Acadia.

Talk to Alcee Bennett

Follow the trip route to the Briar Patch restaurant (2) on the western edge of the French Ward district. Enter and approach Alcee Bennett, the man wearing the white hat in the booth on the right. He agrees to go for a ride with Lincoln.

Go to the Acadia

Walk outside the restaurant, get in your car, and wait for Alcee to join Lincoln. Then follow the trip route to The Acadia (3) in Southdowns. Listen to the dialogue en route—you get some backstory on Alcee and his days in Delray Hollow, and he explains how things work at The Acadia.

Enter the Acadia

Pull around to the side across the street from the stadium. Exit the car and go down the stairs into The Acadia’s side entrance.

Submit to Pat-Down

Approach the guard on the right and press the button prompted to trigger a pat-down.

Go to the Locker Room

Follow Alcee through the double doors and turn right. Proceed to the doorway at the end of the corridor and veer rightward into the Locker Room.

Change Your Clothes

Go to the marked locker and press the button indicated to change clothes for the fight and trigger a short conversation with Alcee.

Enter the Ring

Follow Alcee through the stage door. When the two guards move aside, go through the next doors into the ring area. You can choose to “Work” or “Insult” the crowd, then walk into the ring.

Defeat Nick “Boom-Boom” Beaumont, Bobby Ledoux, and Gravedigger Vaughn

Now you engage in a series of three fights which are essentially the same, except the opponent gets tougher each time. Keep moving and use your melee controls to punch until Lincoln unleashes his punishing brutal head-butt. Avoid getting trapped in corners by the bigger opponents.

Return to the Locker Room

Follow Alcee out of the ring then go through the open doors and head straight into the locker room. This triggers a cutscene: Tommy Marcano and a few friends are waiting for Lincoln.

Fray the Rope

Use the controls displayed onscreen to move Lincoln’s arms up and down. Do it quickly and relentlessly to fray the rope against the metal rack. Watch the screen carefully and quickly press the button shown when prompted to break free and grab `the gun from Tommy’s boy.

Kill Tommy Marcano

Take cover beside the doorway and target the shooters in the next room, including Tommy. Shoot Tommy until he falls on one knee, incapacitated.

Confront Tommy Marcano

Pick up the dropped Riot 550 shotgun then approach the fallen Tommy Marcano. Hold the button indicated to trigger a cutscene: Lincoln grabs the money plates then applies the same grand solution to both Tommy and the printing press.

Reach the Street

Fight down the hallway and around the corner to take cover at the doorway that leads into the grandstand. Use Intel View to spot the gunmen ahead as the fire and smoke start to spread through The Acadia. Pick off a few foes then climb left up the stairs to the top of the grandstand where it’s more protected. Move along the railing and use the trash cans for cover as you work across to the corridor on the opposite side of the room.

Now fight down the hallway as more of Tommy’s men swarm toward you. Be patient—the fire won’t engulf you. Just keep pushing steadily ahead from cover to cover spot. Use Intel View to find Medicine Cabinets too; there’s one on the wall at the end of the first row of seats in the stands. Take cover at the front railing and pick off shooters over in the next grandstand. You need to pass through that area next, so clear it out now.

Continue around the corner and proceed through the next grandstand to the exit. An explosion rocks Lincoln, but keep moving down the staircase. At the bottom, kick open the door to the floor level around the ring. After the left side of the arena suddenly collapses (burying a quartet of hostile gunmen), fight your way around the right side using the two bars for cover. Continue on to the lobby.

Use the Medicine Cabinet in the lobby for health, and use the pillars for cover. One last squad of goons waits beyond the top of the exit staircase. Cover is scarce out there, so pick them off from the lobby then dive behind the wooden baluster at the bottom of the stairs. Watch out when you reach the glass trophy case—gunmen can shoot you through the glass! Push all the way to the final exit doors leading out to the street, where a final few hostiles are waiting for you.

Escape the Area

Just as you grab your first breath of fresh air outside, cop cars start arriving. A yellow circle appears on your in-game map; once you get outside of it, you’re clear, as long as you’ve avoided any police pursuit. Sprint around the corner to the left to where you parked on the side of The Acadia. Grab a car and start evasive maneuvers to escape the Blue Police Zone.

Sal Calls in Santangelo

When you kill Tommy Marcano and escape the area, you trigger a cutscene: Donovan discusses the Treasury’s money plates with the Senate Commission. If Tommy is the second capo you’ve killed (as in this walkthrough), then Lincoln’s escape after Tommy’s death also triggers another cutscene: Sal Marcano calls in Nino Santangelo, the heroin dealer, to help finance his attempts to make gambling legal for his casino project. He also wants Santangelo to eliminate Lincoln Clay.

Assign the Southdowns District to an Underboss

The scene shifts to the bayou mansion where Lincoln has another sitdown with his lieutenants. Award control of the Southdowns district to one of them.
