Associates Selection Wheel

As you take over Rackets and Districts, your Underbosses introduce you to their criminal Associates who you can call using the radio provided by Donovan.

The Associates’ Services selection wheel consists of six sections (once all of the features are unlocked). The services are Operator, Concigliere, Hit Squad, Vehicle Delivery, Police Dispatcher, and Arms Dealer. To use Associates’ services, open the Weapon Wheel by holding LB or L1.

Markers

Markers provide a single free Service from an Associate in the Weapon Wheel. Markers are earned when you finish side jobs for your Underbosses or when you assign them districts. You can earn one Marker for each completed side job (such as delivering one vehicle for Burke), and one Marker for assigning a district to an Underboss. You can use these Markers to pay for Associate favors. When you are out of Markers, you can then pay cash for certain favors.

Associate Selection Wheel Details

Operator

The Operator feature is an Associate favor from Cassandra. There are three levels of Operator to unlock. Calling the Switchboard Operator, Jennifer “Clicks” Moran shuts down all phones for a certain amount of time (depending on the level you have unlocked). Use this feature just before you suspect trouble with Witnesses or if the amount of Witnesses grows out of control. Call the Operator and Witnesses’ attempts to call the police will not go through.

Consigliere

If you die, you lose about half of the money you are holding. This makes it imperative that you regularly drop money in the safe at your safe house. The easiest way to do this is to call the Consigliere. Betty Johnson will drive to your location, take your money, and make the delivery to your safe for free. This is a Vito Scaletta favor. The second level of this feature reveals enemy locations on the map and allows you to collect your Kickbacks without driving to your Associates’ hideouts.

Hit Squad

The Hit Squad can be called when you feel like you could use an extra gunman on your side (or three to be exact). This is a Vito Scaletta favor with multiple levels of increasing strength. Call the Hit Squad from the Associates Wheel and three wise guys in a Potomac Gallant come speeding up to your location. If there are no enemies in sight, they will hang with you and protect you. If you start a fight, they will try to finish it. If an enemy hangout is nearby, they will attack preemptively, or you can fire the first shot to get them charging. The Hit Squad can clear an entire enemy hideout without you ever firing a single shot, but they will leave the boss for you.

Call them when enemy reinforcements have been called on you; your Hit Squad can distract this threat, and depending on the matchup, wipe them out without you lifting a finger. As you unlock higher levels of the Hit Squad, they become almost unstoppable. The higher the level unlocked (by continuing to give Vito territories), the more resilient to damage they become and the weapons they carry are more deadly. The final level gives you one extra man, increasing the squad to a four-man team.

Vehicle Delivery

Your personal Valet, Hank McGahee is a Burke perk. Call Vehicle Delivery when you find yourself without a vehicle (or without the right vehicle for the job). After selecting this feature, you are presented with the option to select from a list of unlocked vehicles. After the selection is made, Hank arrives in your vehicle at your current location. Vehicle upgrades are unlocked similar to weapon upgrades: by assigning Associates territories. These vehicle upgrades apply only to these vehicles the valet delivers. Vehicle Upgrades are presented for the second and fourth districts.

Police Dispatcher

The Police Dispatcher, Fiona Davidson is a Burke favor. Fiona Works for the New Bordeaux police as a radio operator. For the right price, she can instantly get the heat off you by paying off corrupt police officers. Use this feature before or after police have been alerted to your illegal activities. A great time to use this feature, for example, is when you try to wiretap a junction box on a police station in forbidden territory. Call the dispatcher when suspicion arises and continue your crime while the cops turn a blind eye. This feature has five levels of increasing the time the police ignore crimes (from 30 sec. to 10 min.). This service costs $6000 or 1 Marker.

Arms Dealer

Cassandra’s Associate, Mr. DuVernay, sells surplus weapons and supplies out of his van. To see what he has to offer, call him using the Associates Wheel, and then approach the back of the van and hold or . Use the Weapon Wheel to find and purchase weapons. Press or to refill all of your currently held weapons’ ammo supply.

You can increase the inventory of weapons and items available through the Arms Dealer in two ways. First, any weapons you equip from fallen enemies will automatically be added to the store. Second, add high-end weapons and items by assigning Rackets and Districts to your Underbosses.

For each district you conquer, you get the option to assign that district to one of your Underbosses. Each Underboss will offer to unlock a weapon free of charge from the Weapon Delivery van. From that point forward, you’re able to call in the weapon van and equip that weapon for free, as if you’ve already purchased it. The other two choices that you didn’t pick will be available from that point forward for purchase from the weapons delivery van. In subsequent District sitdowns, a new selection of upgrades will be available to you.

Vehicle upgrades work the same way. Weapons will be presented as choices for the first, third, and fifth districts. Vehicle upgrades are presented for the second and fourth districts. The sixth district unlocks a special or heavy weapon. Also available at the weapons van are Lincoln upgrades (Mob Doc), which are unlocked to upgrade stamina and the speed at which your health recovers.
