Mission: “Kill the Butcher”
This chapter becomes available once you’ve secured both the Moonshine and Protection rackets in Pointe Verdun. Now you’re ready to face the district boss, Marcano’s lieutenant, Roman “The Butcher” Barbieri.
Return to Burke’s Iron & Metal
Travel back to Burke’s shop. Before you enter, this might be a good time to call the Arms Dealer to restock ammo, supplies, and explosives, and also upgrade your weapons if you can. Then open the shop door to trigger the cinematic: Burke prepares for the defense of his turf as Barbieri’s crew approaches. Nicki arrives to man the spotlights; Burke heads off to the crane; and Lincoln sets up on the roof.
Defend Burke’s Iron & Metal
The Butcher’s crew arrives piecemeal, in waves of cars. Watch for their approaching headlights at the lot entrance at upper left. Some cars veer directly up the left side of the lot, but others steer across the back of the lot and turn up the right side. Use your sniper rifle’s scope and target the explosive red barrels that Burke placed around the lot.
The key is to detonate a barrel just as the arriving mob car is closest to it. If you time it right, the explosion destroys the car and takes out all of its occupants with a single shot. If you don’t destroy the car, however, you’ll have to pick off the mob gunmen individually as they deploy across the lot. Nicki helps by shining the spotlight on foes as they advance. Keep using the sniper rifle, but be ready to switch to your handgun if one of the goons makes it up the ladder to your rooftop.
Clearing out the first waves triggers a cutscene: up on the crane, Thomas Burke watches the arrival of an armored Pinkerton Titan that unloads more goons plus the Butcher himself, Roman Barbieri.
Confront the Butcher
The objective marker indicates the Butcher’s location and distance; he deploys over to the left side of the yard. Try to drop him with sniper shots, but don’t ignore his men, who push forward aggressively and try to climb to the roof. Keep picking them off, targeting any remaining explosive barrels when shooters are near them. When the last of his men falls, Barbieri emerges and tries to rush your position. Nail him until he drops to a knee, incapacitated.
Kill the Butcher’s Men
This objective appears only if you incapacitate Barbieri while any of his men are still alive in the junkyard. Hunt them all down then return to the fallen Butcher.
Get to the Butcher
Approach the fallen Butcher and hold the button prompted to trigger a final cutscene: Barbieri remains defiant to the end, and then the FBI’s Maguire reports on the aftermath.
Mission: “Only Way’s Forward”
Talk to Burke at Distillery
Travel to the Sweetwater Distillery (2) and find Burke sitting outside in the north lot. This triggers the chapter-ending cinematic: a heartbroken Thomas Burke tells Lincoln that his daughter Nicki manages the moonshine runs, and they bring in good money. He suggests a partnership, which opens up a new optional mission for you: “The Righteously F***ed.” You also unlock a pair of short optional “chapters” that call for nothing more than traveling to see Donovan and Father James for a single conversation with each.

If You Control Delray Hollow, River Row, and Pointe Verdun…
Once you’ve secured all three districts, you trigger a cutscene from the 1971 Senate hearing with John Donovan, who explains to the Senators how Lincoln Clay called a sitdown meeting at an abandoned mansion in the bayou to make a plan with Cassandra, Vito, and Burke. Then you see the chapter-ending cinematic: Sal and Giorgi Marcano, father and son, discuss their casino project. Sal gets a phone call with some unsettling news: Lincoln Clay is still alive.
