Mafia III Guide › Optional & Other Missions

THE BETRAYAL MISSIONS

When distributing districts during a sitdown meeting, you can either make an Underboss (Vito, Burke, and Cassandra) extremely grateful or you can make them very mad. If you continually ignore one of your Underbosses, eventually that Underboss will storm out and quit the team. This can even happen if the Underboss already controls one district. What makes an Underboss even more perturbed is when you take away a Racket that you’ve already assigned them by assigning the district it’s located in to another Underboss during a sitdown meeting.

When you tick off an Underboss and they leave your group, you are tasked with killing that Underboss. Sad but true. You will infiltrate their hideout (where you collect Kickbacks), fight through their cronies, and eliminate your ex-friend. Instead of losing the Optional Missions they offer, their Lieutenant will carry on their operation. So don’t worry about missing out on those. For example, if you kill Vito at his restaurant, Alma will carry on the hits that you would have done for Vito. This is a sad outcome, so we suggest trying to keep everyone happy—if it works into your strategy.
