The western side of this region is dominated by the monumental bucket excavator, which is also an impressive workshop. It is located on the strip-mined Mount Blair, surrounded by several warehouses and mines (some on fire, some inaccessible, and all with good scavenging opportunities). When you’re ready to try something other than clambering across massive metal structures, seek out the mining town of Beckley, with a small and relatively manageable workshop and a main street that’s seen havoc of many kinds, from fallen buildings to Raider fortifications to battles against the military. There’s also evidence of mining protests against the companies that own this land and their incessant march toward automation. But if all of this gets too grim, frolic through Camden Park, the kiddie funfair on the northern tip of this zone (though it’s been recently marred by Raider activity too).
