Fallout 76 eGuide Quests

Daily, Repeatable, and Drop Quests

Aside from events, Main Quests, and Side Quests, you’ll find smaller adventures that follow a very different set of rules.

Daily Quests

As the name implies, Daily Quests can be played once a day. Though replayable like events, Daily Quests are always in the same fixed location. The first location you find one in is the place it will be 24 hours later.

Repeatable Quests

Repeatable Quests are the only quests in the game that you can play as frequently as you want. There aren’t many of them, but you can play them again and again for loot and a chance to obtain a Legendary weapon or piece of armor.

Drop Quests

Truly, Drop Quests might have more in common with Side Quests than Daily and Repeatable Quests, but their odd starting method puts them in a league of their own. In order to start a Drop Quest, you must find a specific item dropped by a random enemy or in a random container. These items will be indicated with an objective marker, so they are a bit hard to miss. Once you loot them, the quest begins.

The Forest (Levels 1–9)

Ecological Balance

Environmental Investigations

As you approach the trailer, an objective marker and the “Investigate the Trailer” Miscellaneous Quest will appear. Grab and listen to the holotape at the objective marker; then use the terminal. Select “Messages,” then “Date Night?”

Head to Cow Spots Creamery at the marked location and loot Amy Kerry’s corpse. Read “Amy’s Note”; then return to Tygart Water Treatment. Use the terminal and select “Environmental Monitoring Program.” Select “Establish Portable Device Link.” Your job now is to collect data on the local water, soil, and air quality, then upload via this terminal.

The Air Data Holotape is on the roof of the building at the marked location. Climb up the stairs, then jump onto the roof to reach it. The data’s locations change every time you play through this quest, but they are never hard to reach. You can find all three Data Holotapes marked on your map.

After collecting all three holotapes, return to the Tygart Water Treatment Terminal and upload each one. Afterward, either step off the terminal and use it again, or select another entry and back out. When you return, a new entry labeled “Begin Data Processing” will appear. Select it to complete the quest.

Heart of the Enemy

Back to School

Head to Vault-Tec University on the east side of the Forest (right next to Morgantown). Enter the building and use the Automated Research Terminal. Select the top entry, then “Execute automated test.”

You can’t perform an automated test until you give more power to the terminal. To do this, head north, then drop down a floor when you reach the room with the large power generators. Hack into the Power Terminal and select “Allocate power to Automated Research Lab.” Now return to the Automated Research Terminal, select the first entry again, and click “Execute automated test” once more.

Biology Class

You must obtain some Scorchbeast DNA, which means heading to Scorchbeast country: Cranberry Bog. You’ll need to harvest DNA off a dead Scorchbeast (by pressing the button displayed in the bottom-right corner of the loot window), but thankfully it doesn’t have to be one you killed yourself. Unfortunately, you still must face off with one if you can’t find a fresh kill.

Head back to Vault-Tec University and insert the Scorchbeast DNA into the Automated Centrifuge; then use the terminal. Select the top entry, then “Execute automated test” to complete this quest.

Strange Brew

A Smackeral of Honey

Head to one of the objective markers and search the area for beehives. You’ll find honey within them, but you’ll also be attacked by angry Bee Swarms. Defeat them with melee attacks, then harvest the hives.

Once you have 10 Honey in hand, return to Sweetwater and deliver the goods to complete the quest.

The Bell Tolls (Repeatable)

Details

Collect loot being dug up from in and around a Charleston church—just watch out for the agitated Mole Rats that are being drawn up by the digging.

Toxic Valley (Levels 10–14)

Big Game Hunt

Hunting Season

Head to each of the three marked locations and search in their general vicinity to track down your targets. If they are not there, head to the next location and come back. You shouldn’t have too much trouble finding the Stingwing or the Snallygaster, since both of them are hostile and will likely chase you harder than you chase them. The Radstag, on the other hand, can be really skittish and hard to locate. Search its area first, then leave and come back as needed.

Buried with Honor

Respect for the Dead

In order to truly start the quest, you must speak with the Curator at Prickett’s Fort, up the road north. Enter the fort and grab the remains; then head back, place them in the open grave, pick up the shovel in front of the dirt pile next to the grave, and bury the remains.

Pass the Buck

Don’t Forget Your RadAway

You’ll have to go in and around the irradiated lake to find and dispose of the three Toxic Barrels. If you have three AGI, you can dispose of them on the spot. Otherwise, you have to carry them northwest to Hemlock Holes to dump them in the Dumpster there. Once you dump the barrels, however, the quest completes.

Target Rich Environment

Menial Labor

Head to Wavy Willard’s Water Park northwest of Clarksburg Shooting Club. Grab the Box of Shooting Targets from the level below the park. You can access the lower level through the hole in the empty cobra pool, from underneath the highest point of the crocodile slide, or from a set of stairs on the right side of the Crocolossus Mountain entrance building.

Once you have the targets, head back and put them on the shooting range to complete the quest.

Thrill of the Grill

Wet Hot Virginian Summer

The robot cook at Hemlock Holes Country Club is having a cookout, but he’s fresh out of meat and vegetables. Track down some good eats for the chef to make this a post-apocalyptic barbecue to remember.

Savage Divide (Levels 15–24)

Someone to Talk To

If I Could Talk With The Animals

Open your Pip-Boy and insert the Vox Interpreter Holotape. You’ll be tasked with hunting down and shooting three randomly-selected animals with your Vox Syringer. Afterward, you must wait for a timer to tick down while your Pip-Boy analyzes their speech patterns.

After shooting all three animals, head back to the basement in Monongah and return the Vox Syringer to the container you took it from. Also return the Vox Interpreter Holotape to the terminal by selecting the bottom option to complete the quest.

Trick or Treat?

The Pumpkin King

Follow the marker to a kids’ hay ride with plenty of pumpkins to go around. Beware of Scorchbeasts from the nearby fissure! Deliver the pumpkins to complete the quest and earn some Pumpkin Grenades as a reward.

The Ash Heap (Levels 25–29)

Earth Mover (Repeatable)

Can You Dig It?

Perched atop Mount Blair, the “Rockhound” Bucket-Wheel Excavator has defiantly stood the test of time. Armed with the proper blueprints and a bit of determination, it’s time to bring this sleeping beast back to life.

Follow your objective marker to the terminal in the Control Room and access it to learn how to power up the Rockhound. Find or craft four Ignition Cores and insert each one into a reactor and the Rockhound noisily comes on.

Defend the Rockhound from the waves of enemies attracted to all the noise! Enemies will focus their attacks on the reactors, and you’ll have to repair them to keep the Rockhound running. The Rockhound will deposit metal in a collector for thirty minutes until its Ignition Cores are spent, so fend off foes and keep the reactors in good repair to maximize your metal production.

Lost and Found (Drop)

Where Did I Place My Keys?

Sometimes when you kill a Mole Miner, they’ll drop a key. This key will unlock one of several supply lockers around Appalachia. Which one it unlocks is completely random, but once you have the key, you’ll know exactly which locker to visit.

Mole Miners are most common to the mines of the Ash Heap. You’ll find them in pretty much any location listed as a “Mine” on the map, but if you’re specifically trying to track down one of their keys, hunting them in the Ash Heap will prove the most fruitful.

After you loot the designated chest, the quest completes. This quest is repeatable, however. Find another key on another dead Mole Miner and the hunt begins anew.

Lucky Strike

Treasure Hunting

Purchase a map from the “U-Mine-It!” machine to start the quest. The location it points you to is random, but the objective once you arrive is simple: excavate the ore.

These quests aren’t complicated: simply complete the tasks as they appear and you’ll have them wrapped up in no time. Just be prepared for resistance along the way—and a good bit of on-foot traveling.

Mistaken Identity

Mr. Fuzzy’s Wild Ride

Head to the objective marker and pull the Camden Park Uniform out of the locker. Put on your new uniform; then use the time clock next to the door to clock in for your shift.

At this point, three new Daily Quests will be added, but they are all a part of your current quest. We will cover them as if they were objectives in this quest, rather than quests on their own, since you can’t activate them without starting “Mistaken Identity”—at least not on your first go-round.

The Chow Line

Go speak with Zoe and she’ll explain the rules of the Chow Line. In case you need a reminder, as soon as you grab the paper towel, you’ll need to eat six moldy hot dogs within 60 seconds as Zoe brings them out. Eat them fast enough and you’ll earn a few Mr. Fuzzy Tokens. Fail and...well, if it means not eating six moldy hot dogs, maybe failing is the only real way to win.

Dross Toss

In order to calibrate this game, you need to throw dross into the used tires within the time limit. Once you start, hold and release the Grenade button to throw the dross. To start, pick up the dross off the counter.

Lucky Mucker

To complete this game, you must run to wheelbarrows scattered around the park and deposit coal into them within the time limit. It can be a bit tricky to spot them when you’re around the objective marker, but don’t panic! You have plenty of time to scan the area; the circles created by the objective markers will help narrow your search. When you’re ready to start, grab the coal bucket. Once you locate all the wheelbarrows around the park, return to Zeke to complete this game.

Big Tokens! Big Prizes! I Love It!

After you complete all three games, head to the Boss to complete the quest. If you want to redeem your Mr. Fuzzy Tokens, you must remove your Camden Park Uniform, then use the terminals next to the Boss. Save up enough and you can get a Paddle Ball, a Camden Whacker, or even a fabulous Mr. Fuzzy Costume!

The Mire (Levels 30–34)

Idle Explosives

Tick, Tick, BOOM!

Speak with Boomer and he’ll task you with recovering bombs from somewhere in Appalachia. Head to the objective markers and locate each of the Inert Bombs scattered around the area to complete the quest.

Play Time

Tasks for Chloe

Chloe will ask you to complete one of the following tasks: Collect science project samples, collect flowers, attend a playdate, or retrieve toys. Return with the task accomplished to complete the quest.

Queen of the Hunt

Hunter Killer

After checking the terminal in the Hunter’s Shack, you must visit three locations around the Mire. These locations are random every time you do the quest, but they are usually in the top half of the Mire, so you don’t have to go too far to reach your destination.

Investigate the sites until you discover the Cryptid. After you take it out, press the button prompt while looting the creature to take a tissue sample from it. Once you have extracted the Cryptid’s tissue sample, take it back to the Hunter’s Shack to complete the quest.

Waste Not

Core Conundrum

Use the marked terminal in the Red Rocket Mega Stop garage and select “ALERTS.” Head to the marked location to track down the Red Rocket Protectrons. Destroy them, loot their Red Rocket Cores, and head back to the Mega Stop and deposit them to complete the quest.

Cranberry Bog (Level 35+)

Cop a Squatter

Cleaning Up the Streets

The Watoga Police Chief asks you to “deal with some squatters” (Read: Kill things). Head to the specified location and “politely” ask them to move.

Forbidden Knowledge

    Random

    Request Government Air Drop (Drop)

    Air Support

Occasionally, while looting through containers, you’ll find a US Government Supply Requisition Holotape, which will launch the “Request Government Air Drop” quest. Your task is to go to the relay station marked on your map and use the terminal among the large computers lining the center interior of the building. Load the US Government Supply Requisition Holotape into the terminal and select “Request Emergency Air Drop.”

The quest will technically be complete after you use the terminal, but you still need to collect your reward. Look around the map of Appalachia to find Miscellaneous Quest: Find the Supply Drop. Head to that location and look for the pillar of smoke that marks a Supply Drop. Collect its contents and consider the quest complete.
