Fallout 76 eGuide Quests

Event Quests

Events are quests that randomly appear on the map and can be played by anyone in the area. Completing an event gives you a chance at earning a Legendary weapon or piece of armor. Events are also endlessly repeatable, meaning you can play it again anytime it appears on the map.

Avoid events early in the game, as some of them can be truly challenging and most will soak up more of your tiny backpack of supplies than you’ll want to share at that point in the game. Once you’ve got a decent gun, a sturdy set of armor, and a backpack full of ammo and supplies, visit events whenever you can. On top of getting a chance to earn a Legendary, you’ll also earn crafting plans just about every time you complete one.

For convenience’s sake, you can Fast-Travel to any event so long as it’s visible to you on the map—even if you haven’t yet visited the area it takes place in!

One thing you need to be aware of is that most Event Quests have timers that are actively ticking down whether you’re participating in the event or not. If you’re fishing for Legendaries and Plans, don’t sleep when you see an event marker appear. Some of these require all the time you’re allowed if you’re hoping to complete them.

The Messenger

Details

Repair and then safely escort Mr. Messenger to his destination. Expect a long, quiet countryside walk, as Mr. Messenger doesn’t have the sharpest memory on the market.

Powering Up Power Stations

Details

Power Boxes can be found throughout Appalachia. If the local Power Plant has broken down, these still have a bit of residual power you can draw on (only 10 power). But once the local Power Plant has been repaired, Power Boxes provide substantially more (100 power in most locations, or 400 power for Power Boxes at the plant itself).

If you have big plans for a Workshop, or just want to build the C.A.M.P. of your dreams, Power Boxes can save you a fortune in generators. But that means you’ll need to get those plants back online.

Powering up a Power Plant

Once at the Power Plant of your choosing, you’ll need to locate the plant’s Cooling Towers, Turbine Hall, and Reactor Room. In each area, you’ll find a number of broken black-and-yellow-striped pipes spewing steam, and several sparking control consoles. You need only activate them to repair them—no materials required.

There are a lot of objects to find. Initially, you’re on your own, with no quest targets to guide you, but once you’ve repaired about half of the objects in each area, quest targets will point you to the remaining broken objects. It may be helpful to turn off any other quests you’re tracking to focus in on the targets all around you.

Once you’ve finished basic repairs to each system, you can restart the Power Plant by using the terminal in the plant’s control room; that completes the event and restores the power. But if you have a few more minutes, take the time to finish fully repairing all three systems: you’ll get a better much reward for your efforts.

Enclave Events

A Real Blast

Details

Initialize arrays in the marked area to start an orbital bombardment strike. Continuously repair the arrays as they break until the orbital bombardment is ready to fire; then hightail it out of there! You have only 15 seconds to clear the area before getting blown back into the Stone Age.

Bots on Parade

Details

Protect a small squad of bots from enemies while MODUS reprograms them. Guard them until the timer runs out; then kill off any remaining enemies to wrap things up.

Dropped Connections

Details

Move around the enemy-filled event location while activating marked arrays. Once you finish activating each of them, an orbital supply drop will plunge to the earth. Kill or destroy all of the enemies drawn to the supply drop, and claim its inventory as your own to complete the event.
