McKraken
Tentacle Shield: Appears while McKraken is charging up his Squangry Blast. Look for a total of four tentacles.
| HP | Weak Against | Target Level |
|---|---|---|
| 3800 | None | 37 |
| Reward | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EXP | 4200 | Money | 20,000 | Item | Top Techniques |
McKraken absorbs Soul power with his right hand and HP with his left. Once he sucks in enough Soul, he starts charging up power and shields himself with huge tentacles. Then, after a countdown, he fires his Squangry Blast. Note that McKraken can’t unleash his Soultimate Move unless both hands are intact, so make sure that at least one of them stays damaged. In the meantime, though, he has skills and Techniques that can knock you out, confuse you, or reduce your speed. Don’t let all your Soul get sucked away while purifying your team!
Tentacle Trample can damage your entire party.
Great Left Hand absorbs your HP. It may confuse you on rare occasions, too.
Evil Right Hand absorbs Soul and sometimes knocks a team member out.
Boss Skill
Squangry Blast
McKraken’s blistering Soultimate Move damages everyone on your team.
The boss shields himself with three tentacles for a few turns as he charges up Squangry Blast. Target those tentacles with pin placements!
Stop Squangry Blast by defeating the tentacles, and then targeting the crown of his head.

Defeat Four Yo-kai Monsters
Objectives 4 and 5
You thought defeating McKraken would restore peace, but a massive amount of dark energy is pouring out from your school. Head there, and you’ll find the resurrected Slimamander waiting. You must fight powerful Yo-kai in three other areas, too.
Slimamander
Slimamander fights the same as in Chapter 3, but with major attack, defense, and HP upgrades.
Impass (White) Springdale Elementary
He’s got strong physical defense, so focus on technique for this fight.
Rollen (White) Riverside
Uses the Rapids skill. Watch out if your Yo-kai are weak against water.
Bruff (White) Residential Area
Each attack is punishing, so keep yourself healed as you fight.
Boss Strategy |
McKraken (Second Form)
Core (Inside Mouth): Opens his mouth when his chest takes damage.

| Reward | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EXP | 6000 | Money | 25,000 | Item | Mighty Medicine (or Holy Exporb on rare occasions) |
You can’t damage McKraken is his second form unless you strike the core inside his mouth. To make his mouth open, attack the two nose tentacles first, followed by the design on his chest. It’ll open if you attack the design first, too, but it won’t cause much damage unless the tentacles are destroyed.
The boss’s attacks often hit the entire party, so make sure to focus on healing and purifying. When the boss is at half his HP, he powers up. He uses more Lightning, Fire, and Wind Techniques, as well. Watch out if you have any Yo-kai on your side susceptible to those elements.
When dark clouds gather overhead, McKraken is about to launch his terrible Tentyphoon wind attack. He also has a lightning storm called Inkredible Shock!
When McKraken’s eyes light up with his Feeling Dizzy? Technique, he’ll get heads spinning in your whole party.
When his mouth is open, pinpoint that red core and start attacking!

Before You Start the Epilogue…
You’ve beaten McKraken and watched the story ending, but the adventure’s not over yet! There are bosses even more powerful than McKraken to beat. You’ll also find high-level Yo-kai to challenge in the post-ending dungeons. In some sub-quests, you’ll also run into S-rank Yo-kai, even stronger than A-rank foes. You’ll need to buff up to even stand a chance.
Raise Your Watch Rank to S
Only Yo-kai masters who beat the game can achieve this rank. Reaching Rank S opens up exclusive Requests, and there are S-rank Watch Locks to open, too! To achieve this, you must find and defeat three more tough foes in the Yo-kai World for Mr. Goodsight.
Go to Timers & More to take on the Request that’ll upgrade your watch to Rank S. All three targets are located down in Yo-kai World.
Liar Mountain: Impass awaits you here.
Hooligan Road: Look for Appak here.
Hungry Pass: Timidevil lurks here.
Stock Up on Items and Equipment
Gather equipment for your Yo-kai to compensate for their weaknesses and expand upon their strengths. Some Requests reward you with extremely helpful items, too, so check out what’s available. Don’t forget to stock up on healing items for the long string of battles ahead.
What equipment will you use? Keep the unique traits of your Yo-kai in mind.
Buy items at convenience stores, hamburger shops, and the bakery. Talismans are useful, too.
Raise Your Levels
From here on out, you’ll be facing the toughest of the tough. You’ll need teams that average at least Level 70 to make it through the Epilogue dungeons. Leveling up efficiently is a must, or else it’ll take a while to reach the very end.
Boost your level by finding and battling tough foes.
You can gain decent EXP from completing Requests. Give them a try, too.
Try Out One-a-Day Events
One in-game event lets you fight a special Yo-kai once per day (in game time). You’ll earn a major EXP bonus!
You can fight one special Yo-kai each day. Beat foes like Corptain enough times, and they might befriend you, too.
Go through a cycle of one-a-day Yo-kai fights, and that’ll be enough to gain s everal levels!
