Food recovers HP and Soul Gauge, while also making it easier for you to befriend the Yo-kai you fight. Generally, items that restore a lot of HP or Soul Gauge also have large Affection Boosts. When you feed a Yo-kai its favorite type of food, the effects will be boosted. But even giving it a food it dislikes will still help you more than giving it nothing. Refer to the Yo-kai Medallium chapter to find out which foods certain Yo-kai like best.
