You can find and befriend a grand total of 218 Yo-kai. Every one of them has its own unique skills. Control them deftly enough, and you’ll have a much easier time getting through the game. Let’s start by taking a look at what kind of abilities every Yo-kai has.
Some Yo-kai are great fighters; others excel at helping their friends heal. There’s a huge variety!

Battle Actions!
In battle, every Yo-kai has one action available in each of four different types of combat moves: Attack, Technique, Soultimate Move, and Inspirit. These actions don’t change as the Yo-kai levels up, but the more you use them, the more powerful they become.

Attack
This is a physical attack targeted at an enemy Yo-kai. There are many kinds of attacks, from those that pack a major punch in one hit but don’t hit often to those that deal just a bit of damage per strike but hit multiple times.
Technique
There are two types of Techniques: attacks infused with an elemental power like fire and lightning that damage foes, and recovery skills that heal your party’s HP. These are never drained, and Yo-kai can use them as much as they like in battle.
Soultimate Move
When the Soul Meter is filled up in battle, your Yo-kai can charge up and launch a special Soultimate Move. Most of these actions damage your foes, but some boost your allies’ stats or refill their HP.
Inspirit
A Yo-kai’s Inspirit skill can spiritually “infect” an enemy Yo-kai and drain its stats. Inspiriting can also bestow good effects on Yo-kai allies—for example, by steadily refilling their HP gauges.
Elemental Effects
If you land an attack infused with a certain element on a foe weak against that element, you deal more damage than you would otherwise. Take advantage of this! There are six elements in all.
