Story
Somewhere in Yemen, terrorist recruits are being trained for battle. We play as one of the recruits and discover that some- thing big is about to happen. Something global.
Toc X:
A familiar voice sits in front of a makeshift office with LCD screens, satellite phones and a laptop. One voice is clear, Mother. Seems that explosion in the first level has led them to something big. But whatever it is, Mother is no longer in charge of MAKO. And Mako is about to get their feet wet.
Complete the Training
In order to complete this mission, you must go through a terrorist training facility and complete all of the tasks. Here you learn how to use weapons and grenades, take cover and fire around cover, and move around the battlefield. After learning all these skills, you then can practice a sample combat situation. Finally, the training ends with a breach against an enemy-occupied room. To get started, walk forward to the door after it opens and continue through a short hall to the next room.
There are three obstacles in this room. The first is a wooden beam with barbed wire wrapped around it. Since you are too tall to walk under it, press the change stance button to drop down into a crouch. Now you can move forward under this first obstacle.
The second obstacle is another wooden beam. However, this one is lower and does not have any wire around it. Hold down the change stance button until your character drops prone. Now crawl forward to get past this low beam.
The final obstacle is a short wall. Since you are prone, you need to get to a standing position. You can either press the jump button or press the change stance button to rise up to a crouch and then again a second time to stand up. In order to get over the wall, move forward towards the wall and as you reach it, press the jump button to hop over the wall. Continue on into the next room for some weapons training.
Advance towards the table next to the shooting range. You begin by learning to fire your rifle. Pull the trigger and try to hit the dummy at the front, center of the shooting range.
Now hold down the aim button. The targeting reticule disappears and you are now looking over the rifle’s iron sights. This provides a slightly zoomed-in view of your target, making it easier to hit. You are also more accurate while in iron sights view than while firing from the hip or arm. Try shooting at the closest target again while looking over your iron sights. Press the fire mode button to switch to semi-automatic. Now your rifle shoots only one round each time you pull the trigger. This conserves ammunition and also provides greater accuracy.
While holding down the aim button, press the switch sights button to switch your view to your scope. This button toggles back and forth between iron sights and scope. Most of your rifles give you a choice of two different sight options. One is usually designed for close targets while the other is for targets at longer ranges. While peering through the scope, take aim at the target at the far right corner of the firing range and fire.
Sometimes you need to take out a group of enemies or hostiles who are hiding behind cover. Locate the three targets in the far left corner of the shooting range. Line up your targeting cursor and then hold down the throw grenade button. Aim just above the heads of the targets and release the button to throw the grenade. After it lands near the targets, it detonates and blows up the targets, completing your weapon training.
You can expect to do more training with your rifle, so reload it and then go over to the terrorist in the doorway to the right. Press the action button while next to him and he gives you more ammo to top off your supply.
Continue into the next room. Here you learn how to fight from behind cover. This time you need to fire at targets on the sides of the room while a terrorist in the middle fires at you. Get behind the wooden barricade in the middle of the room and crouch down by pressing the change stance button. Now move towards one of the sides.
Hold down the peek and lean button. When you now try to move, your feet stay put and your body leans to the left or right. By moving forward while the peek and lean button is being held down, you cause your character to peek up over an obstacle. While peeking or leaning, your view switches to iron sights or scope, depending what you have selected. You can toggle between the two. Now lean around the edge of the barricade and shoot the target on that side of the room. Move to the other side of the room and take out two targets by leaning in the opposite direction. Finally return to the first side and shoot at the final target. If you are leaning carefully, the terrorist can’t hit you while you are leaning. Once all four targets are hit, the terrorist stops firing and a door on the right side of the room opens. Reload your weapon and move through the doorway.
Continue through a short hall and another room until you come to a room with rows of chairs similar to what one would find in a passenger airliner. As you enter the room, three targets pop up. Quickly take aim with your iron sights mode and hit all three to clear this first area.
Reload as you advance to the end of the room and continue through a short passage to another room with rows of chairs. As you enter, take out the two targets that pop up on the right. As you advance further into the room, there are two friendly targets. Be careful not to hit them as you fire at the third target behind them, which pops up and then drops back down.
Head up the stairs at the far end of the room as you reload. When you get to the top, turn around and advance into another room. Shoot the four moving targets while avoiding the friendly targets, then jump over the boxes in the aisles between the seats to get through this area.
As you approach the doorway to the next room, a metal target swings out in front of you. Quickly press the melee button to swing your tomahawk at the target and knock it out of your way. During a mission, when an enemy gets in very close, it is quicker to use your melee weapon than to bring up your weapon to fire.
Continue on into the next area and fire at the three targets that pop as you enter. Again, watch out for friendly targets in this area. After clearing out this last airline kill room, advance to the next room where a fellow terrorist is waiting for you.
It is now time to learn how to breach a locked door when there are enemies on the other side. Move up to the door and press the action button to begin the breaching process. You move to one side of the door while the terrorist moves to the other side. A breaching menu appears. Since most of the breaching methods are locked for now, select kick.
The terrorist kicks in the door and throws in a flashbang to stun the targets in the room. As soon as it detonates, move through the doorway. Since the enemies inside a breached room are momentarily stunned, time seems to move slowly, allowing you to quickly get headshots on the two targets inside the room.
Once the room is cleared, the training is completed. You now have a choice. If you feel like you could use some additional practice before taking on real missions, head through the door on the left. Otherwise, go through the door on the right to continue to the next mission.
