• Task Force Blackbird—“Preacher”

• Objectives: Following the money, “Mother” and “Preacher” head to the modern city of Dubai to find a banker with dirty connections. There are no weapons in this mission. Instead, you are the driver while “Mother” rides shotgun and “Dusty” provides support via your comms. Your job is to get Hassan out of the city without being caught.

Story

Field intelligence gathered in Pakistan takes Blackbird to the modern city of Dubai, where supposed legitimate banker, Hassan, has been linked to payments connected to P.E.T.N. shipments. The mission is simple. Capture Hassan and bring him to the safe house for interrogation.

Although Blackbird has gone dark, Hassan’s computer turned up a wealth of intel. The intel is solid enough for Mako to pay a visit to some old friends. One is an ally, the other, a new foe.

Mission Map

Exit the Parkade and Establish Uplink

As “Preacher”, you are the driver for this mission. As soon as “Mother” rolls Hassan to the car and deposits him in the trunk, start driving. You begin in a parking garage and need to get to the exit. Start driving around the corner to the right.

“Mother” has Hassan’s laptop and cell phone and is attempting to establish an uplink to transfer the files to “Dusty” back at the headquarters. However, while you are in the parking garage, he won’t get a signal. Follow the arrows on the wall in order to get to the exit. Once outside, you should be able to connect to the uplink.

You are able to get to the exit of the parkade without any problem. As you prepare to continue onto the main roads, it is important to remember that you are not in Pakistan anymore. In Dubai, you drive on the right side of the road. Continue out of the parking garage and through the gateway to complete your first objective.

As you come to the main street, take a left and avoid hitting cars or driving on the sidewalk. You don’t want to raise anyone’s attention. Instead, just blend in with the other cars on the road while driving as fast as you can. Use the mini map in the lower right corner to help guide you along the roads.

While approaching an intersection where you have the green light, a black car comes in from the right and cuts in front of you. It looks like this mission just got a lot more difficult. Hassan’s security are after you and want to get him back.

Outrun Hassan’s Men

Drive right past the black car and get your foot on the gas. As you are weaving in and out of traffic, keep an eye on your two mirrors to see where the black car is behind you. Hostile vehicles show up on your mini map with red borders around them.

The black car is faster than you, so if you slow down or hit something, it will catch up. If this happens, try to crash into the black car to force it into a spin or a building. This will slow the black car down and give you a chance to increase the distance between you two. By this time, the uplink is connected and “Mother” starts uploading the files. Since it is a satellite connection, you need to stay out of tunnels or away from tall buildings.

“Dusty” keeps you informed of threats as you are driving. After leading the single black car on a chase, two more come at you head on. As you get near, they turn sideways and try to block the road to stop you. Drive right through the gap between the two cars and keep going.

The black cars continue to chase you. Their tactic is to get a car in front of you, then slide sideways to try to block the road. When you see one getting past you, be ready to dodge it to one side or the other.

Eventually the road you are following merges with the Sheik Zayed freeway. Here the road is relatively straight and you can get up to some high speeds.

Hassan’s security keeps trying to stop you. Time to go on the offensive. When one pulls in front of you and tries to stop you, crash right into the front of it to cause it to spin around and hopefully hit the other black cars on your tail.

“Dusty” has a new plan. He wants you to take the exit to Old Dubai. Look for the orange cones in the road and get into the right lane. Try to maintain your high speed. However, this road has fewer lanes than the freeway, so you don’t have as much room to maneuver.

The road you are now on also has some turns, so be ready to tap your brakes as you hit the turns to avoid running into barricades or other cars.

After taking several turns and briefly losing your pursuers, “Dusty” tells you to pull over and stop. Stay put while a couple black cars drive by looking for you. This mission has just gone from a high-speed chase to a game of cat and mouse.

“Dusty” routes feed to you of the area so you can see places to hide. Drive slow and the pull into hiding spots on the side of the road until the black cars drive by. These spots are marked on your map and have a bluish glowing overlay on them on the screen.

Escape Undetected

As soon as the two cars drive away, start driving slowly and take a right. Then maneuver the car into a construction area off to the right side of the road. Get in there before any black cars see you drive into the hiding spot.

Locate the exit from the neighborhood on the map and try to drive around to it. Use the hiding spots to avoid enemies. However, one of them will usually spot you. When this happens, the screen acquires a reddish glow.

Shake the Pursuit

Hit the gas and try to lose Hassan’s security in the black cars. Take turns and as soon as you are no longer in their sights, slip into a hiding spot and hold there.

When you try to get to the exit, the enemy blocks it. “Dusty” finds another and marks it on your map. However, you need to approach it without being seen.

Use the Service Road to Escape

Lose the black cars by making several turns. When they are far enough back, hiding spots again appear on your map. Get into one and stay put. The screen loses its reddish glow, letting you know the black cars have lost sight of you and are now in patrol mode rather than pursuit.

Wait until Hassan’s security have driven away and it looks like you have a clear shot towards the exit. Then pull out and hit the gas. If you see more black cars headed your way, look for a hiding place and get to it and lay low again until it is clear.

Get to the construction area at the western edge of the neighborhood and slip into this hiding spot.

Continue through the construction area, driving right through a chain-link fence. There is a black car headed your way, so quickly take a right and drive into another hiding spot until it passes by. This part of the mission is tricky since you have to watch the road as you are driving as well as the mini map to see where enemies and hiding spots are located.

As soon as this black car passes, hit the gas and follow a curving road that leads you back onto a main road.

As the main road takes you into a tunnel, you lose connection with the uplink. You need to get back onto the Sheik Zayed freeway where there are fewer obstructions to your uplink.

Outrun Hassan’s Men

The black cars appear again and use the same tactic they did earlier. They pass you and then try to block the road. Evade or crash into them, but keep moving.

As you enter a tunnel, there is construction ahead. While traffic is stalled as it moves to the left of the construction, go to the right through the closed portion of the tunnel. Weave left and right through piles of dirt, tractors, and trucks in order to lose your pursuers, then continue back onto the freeway.

Head to Car-Swap Location

Follow the road and dodge traffic. Hassan’s men are no longer behind you, so there is no need to drive recklessly. You need to swap cars, so pull into the parkade off to the left side of the road.

The secondary car is on the first level of the parkade. However, as soon as you stop to make the swap, a couple black cars come up behind you. No time to swap now. Just get out of there.

Escape the Parkade

Since you have lost contact with “Dusty” while you are inside the parkade, you no longer have access to the mini map. Keep driving and listen as “Mother” helps you navigate. You want to head up to the top of the parkade so you can regain contact with “Dusty”. Once you get to level P3, get to a ramp on the outside edge of the parkade and follow it as it takes you back down. “Dusty” once again has eyes on you.

You finally reach the ground floor again. Be careful as you make a tight turn and then line up your vehicle for the exit. A black car tries to block your path. Go around it to the right and crash through the crossbar to exit the parkade.

Once out in the open again, take a left on the main road and get back into the city’s traffic.

Just as you think you have made it, “Dusty” informs you that he has spotted Sad Al Din, Hassan’s chief of security. He is driving an SUV and enters the road right in front of you, trying to block your path.

Steer around him. The tunnel up ahead is blocked, so swerve to the left and enter the other tunnel where traffic is going in the opposite direction. Dodge the traffic and try to avoid Al Din who is on your tail.

Once out of the tunnel, you are still driving against oncoming traffic. However, there is a sandstorm up ahead. Maybe you can lose him in that storm. Keep driving and avoiding black cars and Al Din’s SUV.

Complete the Uplink

Al Din stays on you. Try to force him to crash into other cars so you can push ahead and lose him in the sandstorm while trying not to crash into oncoming traffic yourself.

When you come across a pileup ahead, take the Hatta exit off to the left so you don’t get stuck on the road where Al Din can get you. Keep driving while the uplink transmits the last files to “Dusty”. Once it finishes, you have completed another objective.

As you are thinking you are in the clear, Al Din’s SUV comes crashing into your car from the side. After your vehicle comes to a halt, lying on its roof, Al Din has his men drag you and “Mother” from the car before knocking you out with a blow to the head from his rifle. You are caught.
