Not only fleet on foot, the point man operator can unleash high power ammunition on the enemy. These rounds have more kick, inflict more damage, and can even drop the demolitions class while in their durable tank stance.

Support Actions

The point man class performs similarly to the assaulter, but is slightly more proficient in close-quarters combat thanks to their devastating 870 shotgun, which serves as their sidearm. At close range, the 870 is absolutely lethal, making it the perfect weapon for clearing buildings and other cramped spaces. All it takes is one hit from this bad boy to take down most opponents—it is less effective against the demolitions class, particularly when their tank stance is active. Fortunately, the point man’s primary assault rifle provides another offensive option when range and penetration matter. All the available assault rifles in this class are deadly, precision instruments, perfect for engaging opponents at any range. Instead of carrying standard fragmentation grenades, the point man is equipped with flashbangs. As their name implies, these non-lethal diversionary devices emit a bright flash and loud bang, temporarily blinding and deafening all within their blast radius, including teammates. Be extremely careful when deploying these hand-tossed devices—blinding yourself, your fireteam buddy, or your teammates will not help your cause. For best results, toss flashbangs toward distant (or obscured) enemies prior to engaging them. When accurately deployed, a flashbang can blind an opponent (or anyone else) for as long as five seconds. Strike immediately after the flashbang detonates so you can mow down your blind opponents without facing much opposition.

Class Ability: Heavy Hitters

The point man is equipped with one magazine of heavy hitters—high-damage output rounds capable of taking down even the most heavily armored opponents. While extra firepower is always welcome, prepare yourself for the harsh recoil exhibited by these rounds when fired through the point man’s assault rifle. Muzzle climb is significant with each shot, making it difficult to accurately fire the weapon automatically. As a result, it’s advised to switch your weapon to semi-automatic fire when heavy hitters are loaded, particularly when engaging opponents beyond ten meters. Firing one shot at a time makes it much easier to keep the weapon on target. Heavy hitters are very effective against the demolitions class, even when their tank stance is active. Use the point man’s speed to flank these slow-moving tanks while firing heavy hitter rounds into their helmet. Since you only have one magazine of heavy hitters at a time, resist the urge to reload after each kill. If you reload the heavy hitters magazine while it still holds ammo, your rifle will be loaded with a standard magazine.

Unique Support Actions

RQ-11 Raven

Support Action Points: 400

The RQ-11 is a small UAV capable of identifying hostile units in a limited radius. When the support action is activated, the RQ-11 temporarily replaces your selected weapon, prompting you to throw the UAV skyward. Before tossing the RQ-11, face the direction you want it to orbit. Unlike the RQ-7 Shadow, this UAV performs a tighter orbit over a relatively compact area. This makes it ideal for locating opponents near objectives or other high-traffic areas. This information is relayed to everyone on your team, allowing them to spot enemies on their minimap. When you throw the RQ-11, always aim up so the UAV can achieve its orbit without crashing into the side of a building or any other objects. If the UAV crashes, it’s lost for good. Be careful where you aim that thing—it’s possible to score a kill with the RQ-11 is you throw it directly at an enemy. The UAV remains airborne for approximately 60 seconds, giving you and your team a significant advantage when it comes to hunting down the opposing team.

Airburst Mortar

Support Action Points: 800

This support action is deployed like all other mortar strikes. When activated, you must first designate the target area with a pair of binoculars—make sure your fireteam buddy watches your back while you call in the strike. As with most mortar strikes, try to target areas where you know enemies are present. Unlike traditional mortar rounds, which detonate upon impact with the ground, these mortar rounds explode a few meters above the ground, scattering shrapnel over a wide blast radius. This makes the support action extremely effective against opponents hiding behind walls and other solid forms of cover. Since the rounds explode above their heads, cover does very little to protect them unless they’re within a building with a solid roof.

AH-6J Little Bird

Support Action Points: 1,200

The AH-6J Little Bird is similar to the heavy gunner’s MH-60L DAP Blackhawk support action. Upon activating the support action, you’re prompted to designate the target area using a laser target designator. Once the target area is selected, you’re prompted to choose the Little Bird’s approach vector as indicated by the green conical icon in the center of the designator’s viewfinder. Soon after the target area is designated and the approach vector determined, the Little Bird appears in the distance and begins strafing the marked area with rapid-firing gunpods. Since the strafing run in linear, it’s best to focus these strikes down narrow streets and alleys where opponents are clustered in large numbers. Properly aligning the chopper’s approach vector is vital when focusing fire down narrow areas like this, so take your time calling in this strike to optimize its effectiveness.
