CONTROL/SURRENDER
Consumed by pain and paranoia, Serene’s now truly struggling with his Chronon Syndrome. He no longer knows who to trust, and all of his plans seem to be slipping through his fingers. He knows the End of Time is getting closer every second; he knows that his Lifeboat Protocol is ready, but he isn’t sure if it’ll be any good.
One of his men comes to him with a damaged Chronon Syndrome treatment, and Serene isn’t sure if he can trust it. Will it help? Or is it a trap to get him to poison himself? A part of him just wants to give in to the thing he feels inside himself. Another part needs to maintain control and carry the mission to its end. Serene has to decide whether to give into paranoia and rage, refusing the treatment, or maintain control and take it.

Paul doesn’t have much time left. He spent 17 years working it out, planning, building Monarch, because he knew what was coming—and he knew it couldn’t be stopped. But what he built turned against him. He doesn’t see the point in saving them if he can’t trust them. He feels he’s slipping away. The sickness is accelerating.
The CFR had cost him so much, but he has harnessed its power, and with it his plan will work. He will be able to keep the lights on when the world goes dark.
A Monarch solider contacts him about the cleanup report of Dr. Kim’s lab he wanted. Paul tells the soldier to meet him in his office. He will be there once he seals the CFR chamber.
The lab explosion, his treatments—all gone. First things first: seal the chamber. The Chronon Field Regulator, Will’s precious countermeasure, has to be kept safe at all cost. The Lifeboat depends on it.
Paul exits the CFR chamber and locks the door behind him, using the terminal. Once completed, the solider confirms that he’s in his office. Paul, clearly sick, slowly moves to meet him.
Paul continues through the lab and up the staircase to Paul’s office. He is near the end. He doesn’t know how to trust anymore—some wanted the Lifeboat to fail, but Paul does not understand why.
Once inside this office, he slowly walks up the large staircase. The Monarch soldier awaits him above.
At the top, a soldier waits near Paul’s desk. The soldier explains that they searched Dr. Kim’s destroyed lab. He reports that the treatments were destroyed, but there was one left. The casing appears to be broken, however.
Before inspecting the Chronon treatment on the table, Paul walks to his desk and Interacts with the laptop to obtain an email.
Paul walks over to the Chronon Treatment and inspects it.
