The first Star Coin is located in a small enclosure near a Chain Chomp at Point 1. Wait for the Chain Chomp to face the Blocks to the left, then ground pound its stake to set it free.
After the enemy smashes through the Blocks, grab the Star Coin floating above the small patch of quicksand.
Sinking in quicksand usually costs Mario a life, but the quicksand below the first Star Coin actually leads to a secret area! This hidden cavern contains three Roulette Coin Blocks, and following this route allows you to bypass a large chunk of the level.
The second Star Coin is located in a hidden area. To reach it, you must free the Chain Chomp at Point 3. Ground pound the stake until the enemy hops away. After the platform sinks into the quicksand, enter the red pipe.
After you pass through the pipe, wait for the Chain Chomps to lunge, then jump up to the Star Coin before they recover.
Before you collect the Star Coin at Point 4, use a ground pound to free the nearby Chain Chomp. It’s much easier to negotiate the yellow platforms once this enemy is out of the area.
When you pass through the Red Ring at Point 5, four red coins appear on the platform below you. Wait for the Chain Chomps to lunge, drop down and grab the red coins, then hop back onto the higher platforms. Collect the remaining red coins as they parachute down from above you.
