A dilapidated shoreline base, Defender takes place in and around massive concrete bunkers, combat transitioning in and out of the buildings.
Map Scorestreak: Laser Air Defense. Activating the massive defense turret in the center of the map causes it to rise up from its building and shoot down any hostile enemy aerial Scorestreak support. The movement of the turret also opens up lines of sight in the room it was contained in, making the central building even more dangerous to move through.
Defender is a flexible medium-sized map focused around a huge central structure housing the turret. There’s also a beach on one side of the level and multiple smaller bunkers and buildings around the edges. Defender has a lot of combat lanes and sight lines, as well as many elevated positions that you can reach with a quick Boost Jump. It is possible to move both quickly and unseen if you’re careful strafing around the outer edges, but be wary about passing through the central building. Although it allows fast access to any part of the map, its central location also means that you can expect a lot of traffic, particularly if an objective is located within.
Be wary of jumping onto the bunkers if you’re uncertain of enemy positions. You can expose yourself to fire unnecessarily, and many of the rooftops have little or no cover for you to evade incoming fire.
