Vittori wants me to find and return his astounding exhibit named Octopuss, an eight-legged cat. The rumors have already begun that a certain collector in Riverside already acquired it.

| Manservant’s Diary | |
| Father’s Testament |
You begin in a small town house. There’s nothing of interest downstairs, so climb through the upstairs window and stick a rope arrow into the anchor beam above the street. Leap from your rope to reach the upstairs window of the neighboring building, which leads to a bathroom.
Area 2: Collector’s Lodge
Hit the light switch to darken the bathroom, then grab the wineglass on the stand near the tub. Open the door and sneak into the bedroom. Pinch out the candle on the nightstand and swipe the letter off the stand to claim a document. Search the nearby cabinet to find some earrings as well.

The letter indicates that the Octopuss you seek may well be found within a hidden vault in the lodge’s basement. It also indicates that the combination to access the vault is the collector’s birth date. Wait until the lodge’s manservant moves downstairs, then sneak out of the bedroom and search the nearby table to find a pocket portrait. Swipe another wineglass off the small table near the couch, and climb out through the east window.

Eavesdrop on the guards outside as you move along the exterior ledge. Pluck a poppy that grows on the ledge, and drop to the narrow alley below.
Sneak west and pickpocket the stationary guard who’s enjoying his pipe. Sneak east and collect a wineglass on a crate. Climb back up to the ledge with the poppy and reenter the lodge through the window.

Area 2: Collector’s Lodge (Revisited)
By this point, the manservant has moved outside to chat with the guards. If he hasn’t, wait for him to do so. Then sneak downstairs and search two tables to find a letter opener and a brooch. Move into the north study and claim a chess piece, a wineglass, and a letter.

Thieving Challenge: “Lift all loot items” (9/27)
Open the east door, but beware: This will raise the curiosity of the guard in the kitchen beyond. Back up a bit and wait for the guard to return to his post, then use a blunt arrow to trigger the room’s light switch from the doorway.
The lazy guard won’t think to turn the lights back on. Sneak into the room and claim a pocket portrait from the cabinet, and snatch the wineglass off the table. The candlestick near the guard is too risky to approach, so toss a throwable into the previous room to lure the guard away.
Pick the guard’s pocket as he moves to investigate the sound, then swoop and claim the candlestick. Quickly steal the painting on the wall before the guard returns as well.

Thieving Challenge: “Lift all loot items” (12/27)
Sneak back out through the study and return to the hall. Advance east and raid another table to find a pocket portrait. Sneak very slowly toward the east door and look for a light switch on the door’s left side—it’s partly concealed behind the kitchen’s open door.
Thieving Challenge: “Lift all loot items” (13/27)
Use a blunt arrow to trigger the light switch, shutting off the nearby light. Swoop past the kitchen door to avoid raising the guard’s suspicions and collect the candlestick you find on the barrel beneath the stairs.

Area 1: Baron’s Way Side Street (Revisited)
Swoop back past the kitchen door, go upstairs, and climb out through the east window. Once you’re outside, use two water arrows to douse the east wall’s braziers. Carefully drop from the ledge so that you land in the shadows directly behind the guard, then steal both of his coin purses. Sneak past the guard and climb the nearby crates, making a counterclockwise loop around the yard to avoid detection by the manservant as you head for the stairs that lead down to the cellar.
Thieving Challenge: “1 aerial takedown” (1/1)
Careful: Another guard walks around the cellar. Spy on him from the top of the stairs and then sneak into the cellar while he isn’t looking.
Area 3: Wine Cellar
Turn around after you enter the cellar and hit the light switch to darken the room. Collect the candlestick off the nearby crate and swipe the wineglass off the shelf before the guard turns the lights back on.
Thieving Challenge: “Lift all loot items” (16/27)
Circle around the central post to avoid being spotted by the guard as he returns to his patrol. When chance permits, hit the light switch to darken the room again, then inspect the painting on the west wall. Quickly find and activate two triggers around the frame to reveal a set of combination dials. It may take several tries to find both triggers without being seen; flee to the shadows and darken the room again as needed during this process.
The combination you must enter into the dials can be derived from the two documents you’ve found in this mission. One document reveals that the combination is the collector’s birth date, and the other gives you his birth date (after a bit of quick math). The proper combination is 8, 1, 2.
The nearby wall panel slides away after you enter the combo, revealing a hidden door. Open the door and sneak into the vault beyond while the wine cellar guard isn’t looking. Close the door behind you or the guard will become suspicious.
Area 4: Collector’s Vault
As you might expect, the vault is filled with valuables. Grab everything in sight, including the Octopuss that you’re after.
Thieving Challenge: “Lift all loot items” (26/27)
Objective 2: Escape the Collector’s Lodge
You’re now ready to make your escape, but there’s a bit more loot to be found in the collector’s vault. Use Focus to identify a loose brick in the vault’s wall, then press it to uncover a hatch that leads down into a secret treasure room.
Descend the hatch’s ladder and swipe the vase off the lower room’s shelf. Open the chest to discover this mission’s final collectible.

Escaping the Lodge
Now, to make good your escape. Save your game, then peer through the keyhole and sneak out of the vault while the guard isn’t looking and swoop up the cellar stairs. When you arrive in the yard, the guard and manservant will enter the lodge to check on their master. Follow after them, for the cellar guard will soon be coming your way.
The guard who had been standing in the kitchen now patrols the lodge’s first floor. He walks a circuit around the floor, moving through the hall, kitchen, study, and then back into the hall. Wait in the shadows beneath the stairs until he enters the kitchen, then sneak up and follow him inside.
Remain in the kitchen while the guard moves into the study. When the guard exits the study, swoop out as well, zipping across the light in the hall as you make for the stairs. You’ll raise the curiosity of the stationary guard in the hall, so head upstairs quickly before he spots you.
Once you’re upstairs, use a blunt arrow or throwable to distract the manservant so that you may swoop past him and reach the bedroom unseen. Move to the bathroom and climb out through the window, then leap back across your rope to complete your daring escape.
