Plastic surgery is an exciting (and somewhat risky!) new option introduced in The Sims 3: Pets. Now Sims can check into the hospital to have a little work done.

Plastic surgery options are:

• Cheap Facial Beautification (§950)
• Expensive Facial Beautification (§2,800)
• Cheap Body Modification (§1,100)
• Expensive Body Modification (§3,250)

When you opt for plastic surgery, you’re whisked into a modified Create a Sim, where you can change many aspects of your face and body. And most of the time, you get exactly what you expect. But surgery can go awry also! Sometimes things go horribly wrong. If so, you’ll see other options on the menu.

If you have the misfortune to have an operation go bad, you’ll get a message saying: “Something went horribly wrong! The surgeons must have forgotten their glasses because they made all kinds of crazy changes!”

At this point, another option becomes available:

• Corrective Face Surgery (§2,050)
• Corrective Body Surgery (§2,275)

A botched nose job is so embarrassing!

Darris Teeter Grocery and the Koffi Cafe

The only new thing you can buy at the grocery store is carrots for §11. Buy carrots to feed to your horse. Better yet, buy carrots so you can plant them and always have plenty for your horse.

Otherwise, the Darris Teeter Grocery sells all the same familiar produce, ingredients, and housewares.

The diner has a lovely outdoor seating area. Have a pleasant meal and watch Sims and their pets stroll by. You might even spot wild horses or deer.

The Darris Teeter Art Theater is in the heart of downtown, between the dog park and the gym, and across from the art museum. Go here if a career in music awaits your Sim, or pop in for a movie to boost your Sim’s mood. You can also tour the theater.

After a hard day in the saddle, Sims are ready for a little pampering at the day spa. Prices for these various personal treatments range from §50 to §7,500, but the more expensive the service, the longer the effects last. Moodlets from the day spa include benefits like Smooth Skin and Completely At Ease. These moodlets can last for days, too, giving you real bang for your buck.

The day spa offers two parttime jobs also. The pay isn’t spectacular, but the hours are perfect for Sims with other pursuits.

Bookstore Interactions

The bookstore in Appaloosa Plains contains all the familiar books from The Sims 3 and any expansion packs you already have installed. But there are three new books as well, so you Sim can get a leg up on learning the Riding skill.
