Dog’s Day Town Plaza, the local dog park, is a great place to take your pet, and to interact with other neighborhood pet owners. You dog can chase and fetch, or play with other dogs and make new friends.

The park has sprinklers to play in, hydrants to enjoy, and a dog-bone shaped pool to take a dip in. The park also has plenty of room to run so you can have a boisterous game of fetch or chase.

Give your dog lots of love and attention. Even independent dogs need time with their favorite Sims.
Make sure your dog always has access to chew toys. Buy the Pet Toy Crate item right away, and direct your pet (or use reinforcement) to chew toys instead of furniture.
Feed your dog regularly. Gourmet pet food will help your dog live longer.
Take care of fleas right away. They not only make your dog miserable, they spread to other pets and Sims.
Bring your dog to the dog park to socialize with other dogs and to have room to run.
