Pets don’t have Lifetime Wishes, but they get wishes just like Sims do. Many wishes are pretty easy to grant, while some might take a little more time. For example, a dog might wish to chase a stick, and that’s an easy one. Play fetch with your dog a few times and voila! The dog is happy. Or the dog might wish to improve his Hunting skill level. That will take a little work and time to accomplish, but the reward, in Lifetime Happiness points, will be higher.
Dogs also have the same mood meter as Sims, and when that meter is green up to the bubble on the top, dogs earn Lifetime Happiness points just like Sims do. Happy, well-tended dogs can earn some pretty cool Lifetime Rewards.

Needs
Like all creatures, dogs have needs. To keep your dog happy, and thereby keep the Mood meter at the top to build Lifetime Happiness points, make sure your dog has all these needs met:
Hunger, Bladder, Energy, Social, Destruction, Fun, Hunger
Hungry dogs will whimper and display thought balloons of food. Feed your dog regularly! If a dog gets to the starving state, it howls, and loses LTR with all household members child and older. Hungry dogs will beg for treats.
If pets eat trash or too many treats they may become Nauseous, and have a chance to vomit. This makes a nasty mess for your Sim to clean up.
Bladder
Dogs will pee anywhere unless you train them to go outside. Direct them to do their business in the yard, or reinforce their behavior when they do. Otherwise, you’ll have smelly messes in the house. Dogs who really need to go will whimper and show thought balloons.
Energy
All that hunting, trick performing, and toy chewing makes a dog tired! Sleepy dogs start to yawn. Let (or direct) your dog go to bed before he becomes exhausted.
The Super Swank Pet Bed Reward Object gives dogs the positive Slept Like Canine Royalty moodlet.
Social
Dogs live for interacting with their Sims. They want to be petted and played with and walked. And after all, that’s why you wanted a dog in the first place, right? Dogs make wonderful companions, but unless they’re very independent, they need that companionship. If dogs are neglected, they get lonely. Play with them, talk to them, or teach them tricks or skills to keep them engaged and socialized.
Destruction
Dogs’ special need is Destruction. Dogs just need to chew things! They will satisfy this instinctual craving one way or another. Left to their own devices, dogs will chew on the furniture and dig unsightly holes in the yard. But your Sims can head off this negative behavior by providing chew toys for their dogs. Purchase the Pet Toy Crate item from Buy mode, and place it on your lot. The crate contains three dog toys and three cat toys.
Chewing on any of the dog toys satisfies the Destruction need. Sims should encourage their dogs to use these when needed, either by directing the dog to a toy before the need drops too low, or by using reinforcement: praising the dog for chewing the toy, and scolding him for chewing the furniture.
Fun
Lack of Fun will make dogs stressed or strained. Fortunately, dogs are easily amused by most things you want to do with your dog anyway. Keep an eye on a dog’s Fun meter, and play with them, teach them, or have them do tricks if they start to get stressed out.
Keep your dog’s Fun meter high to gain strongly positive moodlets like Having a Blast.
