The Sims 3 Pets Guide › Walkthrough › Tour of Appaloosa Plains

Wide Open Spaces

At one time Appaloosa Plains was a sleepy ranching township, its only claim to fame being a garish tourist trap that drew in the occasional curious passerby. However, a recent influx of city slickers has turned the area into a bustling hub of activity.

They keep arriving with their stacks of Simoleons, retrofitting the town with modern amenities while eagerly believing they’ve acquired their own slice of country paradise.

The clash between old and new is readily apparent, with some elderly die-hards clinging to the remaining vestiges of life as they knew it.

Will the town come together in a new era of prosperity, or will the generational clash leave a clear line drawn in the sand?

Appaloosa Plains has a compact and walkable downtown.

Appaloosa Plains is a great place to have pets. There are special dog and cat parks to take your pets for play dates or socializing.

A beach park is just made for long sunset rides, and lovely parks and fishing holes offer natural places to stroll, enjoy nature, or meet other outdoorsy Sims and pets.

Even modest houses in the suburbs have huge yards, perfect for large families with lots of pets. You could even have your own horse ranch.

The downtown architecture has an old west charm with a new money feel. The city center offers all the basic services and job venues in a compact and walkable area.

Many of the historic downtown buildings now house multiple businesses, so your Sims can enjoy all the urban delights, while still having plenty of wide open spaces nearby.

Some folks cling to their old, rural ways, even in the face of expanding gentrification.

Note

Depending on what expansion packs you have installed, you’ll be prompted to place additional buildings, such as clubs, junkyards, consignment store, or salons.

Appaloosa Plains has areas already zoned and set aside for them.

This decaying tourist trap is a reminder of Appaloosa Plains’ more modest past.
