Pets offers some exciting new skills to train your pets and Sims with. Sims gain access to the new Riding skill. Horses can skill up in Jumping or Racing, or better yet, both! And both dogs and cats can learn to hunt, although they learn differently and hunt different sorts of prey.
If you have Ambitions installed, you can sign up for the Horseman/Horsewoman Profession once you gain at least one level of Riding skill.

Hidden Skill: Wildlife Friend
Pets introduces a new hidden skill too: Wildlife Friend. As with other hidden skills, it is measured, but you can’t see your progress along the six levels. Sims can gain the Wildlife Friend hidden skill by interacting with wild animals: wild horses, raccoons, and deer. Sims with the Animal Lover and Loves the Outdoors traits will build this skill faster
