The Sims 3 Pets eGuide Walkthrough Dogs

Dog-Related Objects

If you plan to have a dog, you need a stock your lot with a few key items to keep your dog happy and healthy. If you don’t want your pets eating off the floor, you better get them dog bowls. You can either just click the dog bowl to get the option to refill it (for §30) or you can prepare gourmet pet food (as long as your Sim has at least one level of Cooking skill). Gourmet pet food stays in the Sim’s inventory until you place it in the bowl.

The Pet Toy Crate object is pretty much a must if you don’t want to have a Destructive dog. The crate contains three different chew toys, but they all fill the dog’s Destruction need, without any actual destruction.

If doggy chew toys get scattered, your Sim can use the Put Away Toys interaction to gather them up.

The Biscuit Ball is another source of fun for your dog. And a dog house not only shelters your dog, but sets the stage for romance (see Breeding Dogs, below).
