Lots of pets need to be adopted. Who will give them homes if you don’t? Use the newspaper, computer, or phone to find animals that have been placed for adoption. Or maybe some of your friends are expecting a litter? Visit them and ask for a puppy, kitten, or foal. See the Adoption section of the Create a Pet chapter for more information.

There is no such thing as having too many pets. The more pets you have, the happier you are. The same can be said for your pets as well. It brings you and your pets joy when another animal joins your growing herd. Some Sims may think this is an unhealthy obsession, but to you, Sim or animal, they’re all part of your growing family.
Just how big is a cubit anyway? Get ready to have your own personal zoo if you choose this Lifetime Wish. When your lot is chock-a-block with terrariums, you’ll feel fulfilled. Remember that you can stock a terrarium directly, or capture minor pets in the wild. You can even train your cat to help you hunt the critters! Canine Companion
- Make X Dog Friends
You know that saying, dogs are a Sim’s best friend? Not only do you believe it, that is the motto you live by. But why limit yourself to just one best friend. You want to befriend as many dogs as you can to not only show the world that dogs are a Sim’s best friend, but how they are the most amazing animals in the entire world!
Canine companions love all dogs. Adopt as many as you can manage, then make friends with other dogs around town. Visit the Dog’s Day Town Plaza to meet other dogs, and use the Invite Over Household interaction to get dog-owning pals to come over. The Dog Person trait will help your Sim attain this wish. Cat Herder
- Make X Cat Friends
You love all things feline related. So it’s no surprise that your only goal in life is to befriend as many cats as Simlishly possible! In a past life, you may have possibly been a cat, which would explain why you have this undying love for them!
Cat herders want to be friends with as many cats as they can! You can adopt some, but to make this goal you’ll have to meet other cats around town. Spend time down at the Novian Cat Jungle, and use the Invite Over Household interaction to get cat-owning pals to hang out with you. The Cat Person trait will make it easier to attain this wish. Fairy Tale Finder
- Adopt a unicorn
Why settle for a regular pet when you can have one of the most enigmatic, charismatic, and mythical animals to ever exist? The sheer presence of a unicorn inspires an aura of tranquility and mysticism. Not many Sims can say they’ve seen one, let alone have one be part of their family. So if you ever come across one—it’ll be worth your while to make that unicorn a member of your family.
Only the fairest in the land can capture the heart of a unicorn. To make this wish come true, first maximize the hidden Wildlife Friend skill, by watching or interacting with wild animals. The Animal Lover trait is helpful because it helps build the Wildlife Friend hidden trait faster. Then you have to find, befriend, and eventually ask the unicorn to join your household. Jockey
- Reach Level 10 of Riding Skill and win/earn X,000 Simoleons using your Horses
Lightweight and agile, the Jockey is the driving force when it comes to Horseback Riding. To reach actual Jockey status, one must dedicate one’s life to serving and being one with their horse and their various trainers. The path to becoming a full-fledged Jockey is not an easy task and requires intense training, competing in rigorous competitions, and the will to win.
If you’re looking forward to riding, racing, and jumping horses, this Lifetime Wish will fit right into your plans. Train your horses (and your Sims) and enter competitions every day at the Equestrian Center, and you’ll be able to fulfill this wish. Zoologist
- Collect X pets in the wild
While being able to obtain pets through various ways, there is no greater self-satisfaction for an avid animal lover than to go out into the wild, and bring home a native of the animal kingdom. Animals born and bred in the wild have different challenges and responsibilities as opposed to regular house pets, but that won’t discourage you one bit!
This just refers to minor pets. Wild horses or unicorns don’t count. And you can’t just use the Stock option with this wish, although you’ll still need terrariums. Your pets need to be captured in the wild. A cat’s finely honed Hunting skill could be a big help for this wish, because cats are pretty good at finding and capturing small game. Dogs, cats, and horses are fully controllable members of the household (smaller caged pets are not). As such, they gain Lifetime Happiness points that can be spent on Lifetime Rewards. See the chapter for each pet for a full description of pet Lifetime Rewards.
